Bought another Talon!

So after all these months of having by 96 Black TSi AWD my wife decided she wanted a DSM also. She didn't care if it was an Eclipse or Talon because either way she wanted to put a Blitz kit on it or stick with the 99 Eclipse style on whatever we got.

Well after weeks of searching Craigslist I finally found another 96 Talon, except this one is an ESI, it is red, has the 420a engine, automatic w/ overdrive, moon roof, very very clean on the inside, 144k miles and has a great body aside from the top starting to chip and fade, and even has brand new tires all the way around.

I made the 2.5 hour drive with my dad to look it over and decided I'd buy it for my wife. I talked the guy down from $2000 to $1700 and drove it home. She is in love with her new Talon and has been telling everyone she knows about it. I think it's a great DD for her as she drives 30 miles a day to college and back. And the fact it isnt turbo/awd/manual is just fine by me because she's happy

Tonight I started sanding down the top with some 40 using my DA. I can tell you that takes a LONG time , but the top is coming along just fine. I'll finish sanding and priming the top tomorrow and take a few more pics. I have shown pics of both Drift, and Blitz kits to my wife and she said she isnt opposed to having the 99 GSX conversion. I told her whatever she decided we'll get it taken care of.

Nice find! I'd vote for the 99 eclipse style conversion. Its very common but it still looks good every time Another good looking OEM option would be the 97-98 talon front bumper and 95-96 side skirts. Whatever you decided to do post more pics!

Well, with us getting dumped on today with the rain storms I probably wont be able to finish sanding the top. I have done very well so far but the humidity is too high, and just such a crappy day. I'll hopefully be able to continue getting the top ready for paint tomorrow. I've located a 99 Eclipse with everything but the front bumper and fenders, so I think we're going to get the rear bumper and tails to put on here this weekend too. Moving along on my wifes "no go" Talon

Looks nice, you should NOT need new fenders though. all the 2g Eclipse/Talons have the same fenders. Now the headlights you will need to get for the 97-99 Eclipse if you plan on doing the 99 2gb conversion.

Well, since we're putting on a 99 Eclipse conversion for now I'll have the tails from the Eclipse so no need to even mess with the talon ones. I also have the spoiler off the 99 gsx.
