Well I just bought a motor off of craigslist for $200.
Not a bad price. And the guy even brought it to me! Hahaha
Has 80,000 on it is what the guys says.
It wasn't the engine I wanted. But I made sure it still turned over, and it does.
I mean it doesn't look that bad. Just some mild cleaning up to do.
I know for sure I'm going to do a pressure test with shop air.
So lets hope I don't have any leaks.
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FIND A PULLY SET?!
I cant seem to find one for a non-turbo.
What I'm going to do with this engine is you know all the tune-up stuff you do, seals, timing, gaskets, etc.
Then I'm going to swap it out for the oil burner I have in my car right now.
Then tear down the oil burner and build it up with all the fancy smancy stuff.
Yes yes, I will take pictures of everything.
And I have some pictures for you right now!

Autozone has the harmonic balancer pulley for the car. that's really they only pulley i see you need besides the belt tensioner but why not just move the pulleys you have on your current 420A over?

Did you look at the timing components? he is missing 2 idler pulleys which are probably what he is talking about. I have seen them on ebay as well as howellautomotive.com and cimotorsports.com. ci has a better selection for us 420a guys and I personally haven't had any problems with slow shipping from them.

Good luck man!!

ahh your right i didn't notice that at first. yes i would install new ones on it when you install a new timing belt.

id just usse the pulley from the motor thats in your ccar... and save the new good stuff for the rebuild

I agree with last post on checking for metal shaving that is what issue was with my 420a when i first bought it. I had to replace crank and number 4 piston rod.
