bought a crashed tsi awd ......need help

i bought a 96 tsi awd and i have a couple Qs

it has an auto tranny
and it took a hit

what is under there ?
do you think i need a new tranny?

and this is it with the parts just sitting there

its the tranny pan is there any thing that it might of hit "inside" the pan

Looks like an oil pan to me?

If thats the only spot that got hit, then no you don't need a new tranny..I'd be worried about the motor and how long it was driven after this hit, cause all the oil would have definitely pissed out of a hole that size. drop the oil pan and inspect the internal damage there. If there isn't any and the motor wasn't driven long after that hit then you should be GOOD just to replace the oil pan.
