They said that it had bent valves and the timing was off really bad.... But I dont know if they knew what they were talking about so I took the valve cover off and took some pics for you that might know whats wrong... tell me whatelse I could take pics of to maybe help you tell me whats wrong with it.

Hey, where in arkansas are you located at? I and a few other people are up in northern arkansas.

But neways, who did you buy the car from, was it a kid in Jonesboro by any chance?

Well you cant really tell much from the pics, my advice would be if you wanna know if the valves are bent, then take off the head :|

Its hard to tell from pictures. The rocker arms on #3 & #4 cylinder don't look to be centered on the cam though, that's usually a pretty good sign there's something wrong in the valve train.

The only other thing you could take pictures of is the cams themselves so we can see the timing marks. Rotate the engine until the timing mark on the crank is lined up, then show us what the timing marks for the cam look like.

You will see a small slit on each cam gear, then another line on the head. If you can take a ruler and its straight across all three marks then your timing (up there) is okay. For the crankshaft, there is a mark on the gear and the block. Then on the oil pump sprocket there is a mark, and a mark on the block. All of these need to line up at the same time. If they do then your cam timing is fine!

So I checked the CAS and it fires the plugs and injectors when you spin it.... So I put everything back together and it just turns over but no start.... Now I am headed to check the cam marks

I dont see that at all man

if you can't do a compression check, just take the head off and take it down to fliteline. Rusty will look at it and can tell you whats wrong with it.

off-topic: i used to live in mt. home for a while when i was little. :p

DO A COMPRESSION CHECK! This will tell you if you have a serious problem or not, looking at it and guessing at the cam gears is only going to waste time.

-The dowel pin on each cam must be point at 12:00, the dash marks are on the cam sprockets, make sure there aren't any missing teeth on the timing belt, do a compression test like others said, or do a "leak down" test will tell you which valve is leaking. for more detail, please check out vfaq.com , look under "engine", there're photos there.
