Hey guys, got another question. The bottom end is still in the car, I just put in new pistsons on 1g rods and got em in and locked in. Rods machined, new bearings, arp rod bolts. I put in the pistons from driver side to passenger side numbered 1-4. I got in 1, 2, and 3 and could rotate the crank with a ratchet no problem until I put in the 4th one. The top end is still off keep in mind. I put in and locked on teh 4th rod to the crank and when pistons 1 and 4 were at the bottom of the cylinders it would stop, like it hit a road block, roatate it the opposite direction, it'd stop at the point. I used a mallet to GENTLY tap the ratchet and it continued on and spun no problem til it hit the bottom again. This time it took less force, the 3rd time it took less, and by the 5th time it now spins freely with a ratchet and doesnt stop or hesitate. What was causing it to stop? Something with aligning the crank with that motion it has to do at the bottom to spin them correctly? A friend at work thought maybe a bearing wasnt 100% lined up and it got aligned doing this. Now it spins freely though I don't see any issues, no scraping, no weird noises, it all spins good, everything is lubed up very good, and I even took off the main caps and relubed up the old lower bearings there. They didn't look bad, a little worn but not bad. So my question, what was causing it to stop when I had the 4th piston in there? Any ideas?

I did check the main caps to make sure the bottom of the rod wasn't hitting up against it and there is plenty of clearance.

It sounds like you put 2G pistons on 1G rods. is it possible you were hitting your oil squirter for piston 4.

but do the 2g pistons hit the squirters? Do you have to "bend" them a tiny bit for clearance? I never heard about that....it very well could be....didn't even think to check that clearance but dont see how that last piston would be the only to hit....
