I did this before on my first 2G and well i can't figure out a way to do it again, i know there's a way to bypass the relay for the fans and have them turn on using a switch. I would really like to know if anyone has been able to or knows how to re wire or mod the relays in order to have both fans come on when the ignition is turned to On.

The HKS Fan Controller has been developed to control factory or aftermarket electronic cooling fans. This unit can control one fan at two speeds or two fans at one speed, and can set the fan(s) to turn on or off at preset temperatures. The back-lit digital display provides real time water temperature (in Celsius or Fahrenheit) using the factory water temperature sensor. A peak hold function memorizes and displays the max temperature value.

The Fan Controller also features a water temperature warning function. If the preset temperature is exceeded the Fan Controller will make an audible alert and the back-lit digital display will blink. The rate of the blinking tells the user if the water temperature is raising or falling. On selected turbocharged vehicles the Fan Controller can also control the intercooler water spray function.

I just want to keep things cooler since new bigger turbo has been added, but i don't want to spend much money. Thanks for your reply and suggestion

It's just a wire-up, but fans are for when you're stopped (or moving very slowly). They can't pull as much air as the car goes through at ten miles an hour. Are you having overheating issues?

No none what so ever, and the write up in VFAQ is a re wire to add a switch and be able to turn on both fans when ever. I'm asking if someone knows or has done this so that you don't need any switch and fans turn on with simply the ignition. I wanted to have both ons to try and keep thins cooler near the turbo, since i just upgraded mine and my friend told me that when he installed his nonwater cooled the driver side fan melted.

u can wire them the same way the fuel pump Re-wire is done...

just chop the plugs off.. run a relay, and wire the fans power direct from the battery...

good to go

Ottoman how exactly is this done, have you done it, can you give me more of a description. Thanks

There is a much easier way to do it if you have AC, no rewiring, nothing. Pop your hood, take the cover of your fuse box, and take the fuse for your AC compressor out. Then when you're driving, just turn your AC on. The Compressor won't turn on, but the secondary fan will come on.

Damn, but then my AC won't work, down here in florida i need AC, is hot, and my AC works perfect. I did it once i rewired the relays something like on the VFAQ but i didn't use any switches they simply turned on with the ignition

Ok i didn't want to start another thread so i will just use this one.
I will be ordering 2-10" pusher fans soon and want to wire them both to the ignition.
How do i go about doing this ? I don't want to have to install any switches or relays, just need to know where i can tap in for 1 wire to the ignition so when my car is on the "on" position the fans turn on.
Thanks.

Didn't know HKS actually made that. I've got mine hard wired in a sense. I rewired mine. I've used a toggle switch custom mounted on the dash, a 20 count box of 18-20 gauge weather connectors, a couple of round eyelet connectors for the positive and negative posts off of the battery, and 2 different colored wires. Both 18-20 gauge 30 foot rolls. Both fans come on with the flip of the switch. PM me for details. Josh

Thanks for that info, but as stated, i don't want to run them with any switches. I rather have them wired in to an ignition relay already on the car. I'm trying to keep it clean.
I know it can be done cause a local miami dsm'er has it that way.
