Which BW unit will able to do 700whp on a simple 2.0L setup? I'm not that familiar with them. I don't know if the S366 will get me there, but what about the S366 ETT? What's the next setup from there? A S372? I don't want a lag monster, but I do want to achieve 700whp.
 
none of the turbo's you listed are borg warner units, there all BEP units. However, a 366 will produce 700hp, as will a 368. If thats all your goal is, if you might want to get into the 800's you should look at the 372. 700+ is a huge amount of power either way and any turbo capable of is going to have a good degree of lag.
 
I called up BW and got some information for me choosing what turbo for my hp rating and what a/r should I get. I didnt wanna get crazy high with the a/r bc it would just mean more lag. Since I wanted more than 700whp BW felt that the s372 extended tip and race cover would work nice for me.

What I think you might be best with the s368 ETT V-band T4 .90 a/r

Im not sure if they offer a different cover size for this model but I know they do with the next lower model s366 and the next higher model s372.
 
Wheel size and compressor maps don't do anything for me. I don't wanna try to read em and read into them. I wanna know who has made what power on what turbo. LOL

I tryin to show you the size, inlet, outlet, and a/r. They also tell you the hp rating on the turbos also. I not tryin to have you read into them. If you looking for 700 I already told you which series you want. Also I dont know what you mean by a simple 2.0L setup but I did alot to my 2.0L to handle 700hp.
 
That link was for a 368. HP rating 400 - 750. Not real helpful. I want real world #'s on a 2.0L 4G63, not some range of HP it will support on any given motor.
 
Bullseye MANUFACTURES turbine housings. They RESELL turbos. They don't manufacture any type of turbo. Go look it up.

agreed. However, bullseye power does not rely heavily on BW anymore for parts like they used to, please learn this. Go look it up. They source their parts from elsewhere now since BW couldn't stock their stuff and keep up with their demands.

I told you what would work for 700hp easily, and s366 or s368. HP is very subjective as well, perhaps you could give us a bit more details on your setup, what fuel you plan to use, how much boost you want to run, compression, things of that matter.

a bigger a/r also means more power, remember you don't want backpressure anymore then 1:1 when referenced with boost, it causes dramatic HP loss.

ok even so without the link you wouldnt need anything higher than the s372, I only went with the s372 for I can make alot more than 700. You worry about lag so I felt the s368 would be a good turbo for what you are looking for and that depending on the a/r but these turbos kick in alot higher in the rpm range than like a 50 trim.

Bullseye doesn't manufacture anything EXCEPT turbine housings. What are they sourcing?? They buy the turbos from Borg Warner, and mark them up and resell them to us!! That's ALL they do! So what exactly is it you want me to learn?? The turbo I buy from Bullseye is the exact same turbo that I can buy from ANY other BW distributor.

If the S366 isn't a Borg Warner turbo...what is it then?? It's surely not a Bullseye turbo. Because these guys, Tim's Turbos - Turbo Rebuilding - Borg Warner S366 Turbocharger, sell a BORG WARNER S366 turbo as well. Notice how they don't sell a BULLSEYE S366?? Learn who makes what before you tell me to learn something!!

They seem to be selling a BORG WARNER S366, with a BULLSEYE turbine housing! Notice how the turbo says BORG WARNER on it, NOT Bullseye. Understand it yet? Or do you need more examples?

No offense, but that's the laziest thing I've ever read on the forums. You want to copy someone's setup because you don't want to do the research yourself?

Compressor maps tell you everything you'll want and need to know about the turbo you're interested in. You have to get an idea of the target boost level you're looking to make, and then find a turbo that makes the airflow you need to generate a certain amount of horsepower at that boost level.

You wouldn't pick a turbo that isn't efficient until 30psi for a car with a totally engine (even though some people are foolish enough to do this) just as you wouldn't pick a 14B which makes 33-34lb/min for a car with a 600whp goal.
 
the s362 will get you into 700whp. 2 locals are running that turbo. a 1g with a ett and 2.0 makes 708whp on 34lbs. the 2g has a net and makes 691 on a 2.3 on 36lbs.

You are right. It is extremely lazy of me. I don't have the resources nor the time to be a guinea pig with turbos and sizing etc. Everything looks one way on paper, but I prefer real world results. I'd rather copy someone else's successful setup, than trust numbers on papers that might or might not happen in real world applications.

I may be lazy in this area, but I like to buy big $$ items once, KNOWING they will do exactly what I want it to do. If it doesn't, then it's purely by my OWN wrongdoings, or lack of ability to make it do what it's supposed to. I prefer to not have a piece of paper tell me a turbo SHOULD make xxx HP @ xxPSI. Then in reality, it doesn't.

Whether or not this is being lazy, or just following the old addage "imitation is the best form of flattery", is entirely up to you.
 
BEP is no longer an official distributor for BW, and they source their parts from other companies. With that said, they do seem to offer certain wheels that Full Race does not (and vice versa).

To answer your original question, the 66/91mm wheel (the S366) and the 63/88mm wheel (S364) are rated to 82 and 75 lbs/min respectively, so both of them can theoretically support 700 whp.
 
I'm not calling you lazy yourself, just the action of copying a setup based on someone's results. The chances on duplicating someone's results based on their setup alone are slim to none. Pick any one of the cars that make 700+whp and run 9's / 8's and I'll guarantee you they didn't get there by copying anyone's setup.

What we're seeing is guys making 600+whp using turbos like Holset HX40's, PTE 6262's, and FP 3586's then the uneducated public runs out and buys these turbos and bolts them to a car with the stock block...and the forums become loaded with threads wondering why they can't duplicate the results.

You have to know what your build is capable of making, you have to know how much boost you want to run, and then you choose your turbo by looking at compressor maps to see which is the most efficient once you calculate all of the factors.

My original choice for my AWD build was a FP DSM Red- mostly because I loved the idea of a 60-1 compressor in a true Mitsu bolt-on turbo package, with Mitsu turbo reliability. I actually bought one of these that needed a rebuild with full intent of using it. My next choice was the FP 3065; plenty of guys have gone fast with this turbo too, but I didn't like the idea of a turbo that wasn't rebuildable going on a street car / race car. I finally discovered the Holset HX40 which combines the best features of the 3065 with the durability of a MHI turbo while remaining 100% rebuildable.

DEFINITELY do your research so you only have to buy once without disappointments!
 
My car can handle pretty much whatever I throw at it. I've been out of the game for a few years, but I'm not one of those guys that just goes out and buys a 700whp capable turbo without supporting mods. Only thing keeping me from 700whp is a turbo and tuning :)

More like 38-39psi. This was also on winter blend E70, we'll be back looking for 750whp on true E85 or possible E98 in the spring.

i didnt think tort was running that high of boost yet. but i know you would know the car more than myself!

regardless, i know there is more in it with better fuel and more of a aggressive tune. :thumb:
 
Well, now it appears there's a bunch of different comp/turbine wheel combos that make up a "S366". Now i gotta do some research to find out which ones are the most desirable. UGH!!!
 
Friend of mine made 719WHP on 366, 2.0L motor. He had a Shearer T3 mani/open/ and the turbine housing was 0.86 AR/divided, which of course didn't help/ but it was full race car... Consider true divided set-up and the smallest AR turbine cause this thing/S366/ is laggy. Can't expect fast spool-up on a 66/91mm comp wheel.
Either one of 364-366 would meet your goals for sure...
 
I need to know how many diff. wheels are available for this turbo and still call it an S366. Apparently, Bullseye cuts their turbine wheel down, from 79.7mm to 76mm, in order to fit their T3 housing, but still sticks it into their T4 housings. There are a few diff. comp. wheels as well. Soooo confusing.
