i converted my car from awd to fwd. it holds at 12 then when i get close to 4600 rpms the boost flys throw the roof. to 20 pounds then i let off. but if i hold my gas puddle about half throttle it boosts 12 pounds and stays there till redline at half throttle and it pulls harder at half then full throttle. i never had these problem. iam confused.

What made you convert from awd to fwdWTF. What do you have done to your ride?. If you stay in the throttle does the boost peak somewhere. Or does it rise out of control
If the mods in your profile are all you have, you are missing alot of important supporting mods!

What you're referring to is boost creep. Did you add/change the exhaust since the conversion?

From what I've seen with eBay 16g's, the wastegate hole is extremely undersized. You will likely need to port it larger to better match the flapper. This site is full of boost creep related issues and possible solutions.

i would have to say boost creep..... i experinced that problem in one of my buddies 1g before... it was funny as hell! but its not to major as long as you catch it and fix it... and you might want to get more supporting mods.. thats how my first DSM when to the shit hole.... kid that ahd it before me kinds swept things under the carpet and said it was good and what not turns out it was running 18 psi with just a intake and exaust... and he ran a 25 shot through it.... i found out the hard way supporting mods are the most important and most of the time cost alot less then the bigger shit like turbos FMIC all that stuff...

what supporting mods to i need? i just bought a new fmic not insalled waiting for it in the mail. i put a new o2 housing that is open and a 2.25 downpipe that goes into 3 inch side exit exhaust. no cat. before the fwd swap i was running stock downpipe 2.25 side exit exhaust. the boost does not stop climbing it went pass 25 psi today

i had the old boost creep issue as well. one thing you should keep in mind is that when you ad something thats gonna let more air in you need to do something to let that extra air out. port work helps a ton.
