calgary,
My car is bone stock as of now. I am thinking about getting just a boost controller and a boost gauge for it. How many psi is safe to run on the stock motor? How much hp will this add? Thanks.

well if your profile is right you have a n/t so that wont help you out much, but if you buy those, 15-16psi should be a safe level, and you should see about a 60hp difference maybe more with an exhaust!!!

O sorry, I recently purchased a 1996 eagle talon tsi awd. So 16 psi is like a 4psi increase? It will make about 50hp extra?

Running more then 15psi on the stock t25 is worthless IMO. Set it at 15psi and get yourself an exhaust and hard ic piping and you'll be happy. At least for a while..:thumb:

i agree, 15 psi isnt really much on the t25, just makes it blow quicker LOL

also running more than 15 psi on stock fuel systems is a little much...stay with 14-15

What is the stock psi right now on the t-25? How much power difference will setting it at 15 psi make?

Please dont bump your own threads, it all depends on the car, each one is going to be a little different. So its gonna be hard to give you and exact number. You also have to remember that if you want to run more boost there are alot of supporting mods that go with it.

So for sure 15 is a good amount of boost then? What brand of guages and controller do you guys recommend>?

Well if you wanna know "safely" you need to get yourself a datalogger. Your gonna wanna see whats going on in the engine and this allows you to do that. Also as stated 15+ psi on a t25 and your blowing hot air into the engine. Upgrade to a 14b if you wanna run higher boost, and be cost effective. Just a thought but we'll cross that bridge when we get there LOL.

Ya I'll probably just keep the t-25 and up the boost to 15 I guess for now.

....i have a 98 tsi with a 14b, at 15 psi...i drove my friends 97 tsi with a t25 at about 17 psi, and he has the same mods as be besides the clutch and 8lb flywheel....his car was a HUGE amount slower than mine. then we did the 14b swap, set it at 11 psi, and he was thrilled with the increase. 4 days later, it blew LOL, and Justin savd the day...but thats in another thread!
