boost problems.. need help asap!!!

ok heres my dilema... the turbo on my gst went and i needed it replaced asap to get back and forth to work. so i ordered the small 16g from slowboy racing, i also got the sbr manual boost controller, 2g install kit, braided s/s -10 oil return line. i got the turbo and all put on the car, and im still waiting on my boost gauge and fuel pump to get here. i have everythng hooked up and the boost controller screwed just about all the way in so i should have practically no boost. well when i get on the throttle fairly hard, the stock (fake) boost gauge goes up to the lil dash before the top of the gauge and then the car just feels like it hits a brick wall. now is there an fcd i can get to remedy this or will just adding the fuel pump eliminate this problem? or is it even fuel cut? i really need to find the problem here and get it fixed before this weekend because i leave on a long ass trip for michigan. any help would be appreciated.

have you tried using the stock boost control? how about just disconnecting the MBC and let it control its own boost. Without any exhuast mods you wont boost creep so it should stop itself at like 9-10 psi. Perhaps think about not letting it boost much until you have a gauge.

sounds like a boost leak... maybe search vfaq.com for how to check for boost leaks

I got a similar problem too, but I know mine is leaking a whole bunch of white smoke from the intake manifold. boost gauge reads zero and bov sounds like: cheeeeewfff! my bov is greddy and doesn't sound like that before installing the small 16g.

If the boost controller is screwed in all the way then you will be running super high boost. Running super high boost on a stock fuel system with no air controller (AFC...) will cause the computer to see way more air then your system can afford fuel for and you will get fuel cut. Either remove the MBC or turn it almost all the way out. Don't do anymore boosting until you get your gauge.

Screwing the adjustment knob all the way in increases boost. You are hitting fuel cut because of the amount of air that the ecu is seeing. Take the boost controller out of the system until you have a boost gauge and know what you are doing. Run a pressure source (whereever you T'ed the MBC too) straight to the wastegate actuator.

well then the guy i talked to at slowboyracing is an ass clown then. he told me to turn the knob all the way in to decrease the boost level. so i turned it all the way in. and the reason i put the mbc on in the first place is because the way it was hooked up originally had the car running rough. well now that i have it t'd in the way the mbc was supposed to be hooked up and the factory boost control solenoid hooked back up the car is now running without any problems. thank you for the advice and help
