boost leak test results...bad?

Ok, so I just finished doin a boost leak test. I got it to 20 psi but i heard a big leak and it went down to 0 psi in a couple seconds. I found that the air was goin thru the pcv valve, in the valve cover, and out the valve cover breather nipple. Is that normal or is something wrong? Also when i started my car it was burning oil. Is that normal? It went away I think

Pull the PCV hose off the PCV and put a bolt in it to seal it. Then retry.

That was a suggestion for a way to block air leaking back into the valve cover for boost leak test purposes, not for driving purposes.

how exactly do you do a boost leak test? my car runs 18 psi all day and a couple days ago i hit a huge pothole and now once i hit 15 psi my car basically putters n stops spooling. i thought it was the hose from the intercooler, i took it off n checked it and put it back on and it is a bit better but still the same thing happens.

i have looked around the forum seeing if there was a similar problem and there hasnt been. thanks

Come on man, at least TRY to search on how to do a boost leak test. And as far as people not having similar problems as yours, I bet at least 100 percent of the members on this board have had the very same problem as you. If it happened when you hit a pothole, chances are a coupler, or IC pipe popped off, or possibly a clamp broke. Check those. IC Pipe Tester

thanks man. sorry I havnt really had time to look around the forum i do now though. thanks a lot. just got freaked out wen my turbo wouldnt spool up.
