Boost Leak Test Questions

Can anyone give me, or know where to find a good diagram with maybe some real pics of how to perform a leak test for all the lines that have to do with boost and what not? ya know, with the BOV and everything?

when I put in my HKS SSQV BOV, I did not put any kind of adhesive on the pipping. When I took out the stok plastic one, there was like, glue holding it in, and I just slipped my aftermarket one on, and use pipe clamps (the ones you screw tight). to hold it in place. Should I use an adhesive of some kind? And what kind?

Also, I'm sitting here trying to remember what it was I'm going to ask....

O, and for the Screw for the BOV... screwing it in will allow it to hold more boost right? Then why does it allow you to adjust it? woudln't you just want it screwed in all the way? Where should I set it?

Assuming you will be running normal street driven boost you don't want it all the way in. It's good to have it somewhat loosened so you don't get compressor surge under slight boost. If the spring is applying too much force, you won't be able to vent the excess air.

about 22-26 lbs each in a 17x7 application (ie they are quite heavy... about as heavy as stock gsx rims)

I checked into them about 4 months ago but was disgusted that they cost a fortune and aren't even lightweight wheels
