My mods are in my profile. I recently installed some 550's a couple of month's ago and I drove it to class today and I got on it in 2nd and 3rd and it felt bogged down like a boost leak. I drove it home and popped the hood armed with a spray bottle cause I dont have a air compressor for a boost leak test. I heard this hissing sound like air escaping from somewhere around my injectors or intake mani I can't tell and nothings making bubbles, so I tightened up the bolts that hold down the fuel rail and started the car and it's still making the same sound. I took one of the clips of one of the injectors and noticed that I can like spin the injector around back and forth. Am I supposed to be able to do that? also is the intake mani gasket a possible source for the sound?

The intake manifold gasket is a possible suspect. When you put the injectors in did you put new lower injector seals on them? You really either need to get a hold of an air compressor or an air tank and do a boost leak test. That will tell you hands down.

Did you install the plastic spacers that go on the fuel rail bolts? When you upgraded the injectors, did you replace the injector seals? If you spray the shit out of the base of the injectors (lower end) with soapy water (really soapy) and BLT, it will foam up.

You can get a good sized air tank at Wal-mart for $20. All you have to do is fill it up at a gas station and you are ready to go. Its cheaper than buying an air compressor.

I recently tried doing my first leak test, but since I dont have a compressor/canister yet, I used this big ol' bike pump I had. I knew to begin with that it wouldnt build enough pressure, but I wanted to try anyways. When I started pumping it a bit, I noticed that my electronic boost controller solenoid was clicking.

Is that normal?

That's odd... you should have the car off when you perform a boost leak test..
