I Have this problem with my car Its a 90 eagle Tsi AWD If I boost more than about 15 psi it starts to load up or spit and sputter/ backfire. I logged a run when it does it Its hitting like 1604 hz on the pocket logger and dosent get any higher. If i set the boost controler to 15 or less it runs fine. I recently did a boost leak test and found that my throttel body was leaking around where the throttle plate shaft comes out (wher the throttle cable hooks up). Ive disabled the emanage and hooked up my brothers mafT and it does the same thing.
What is the max hertz on the Mas sensor? All the problems started after I was boosting really hard and i hit a bump and my blow-off-valve blew off OMG (fell off) (I didnt have it fasened securely) dont ask.

Mods:
Greddy E-manage
650cc injectors
2g mas
modified Hahn Super 20g (td06)
FMIC
2 1/4 intercooler piping
9:1 Wiseco Pistons
Eagle Rods
Balance shafts gone
Stock cams

thats generally a vacumm leak i see you have the correct amount of fuel upgrades (dont know how well your tuned) but i would change out that o ring first then check for other leaks....that definitely sounds like a vac prob

My car does that too at 18psi, i havent lowered the psi though. Ill probably do that tonight/tomorrow. I need to run a boost leak check. So yeah

just so you know, the logger wont show you more than that, but the ecu IS seeing more. so, basically, reading mafs for wot runs is pointless.
check your plug gaps, you might want to make them smaller.
hack your maf.
lean out until you get knock.
and it gets annoying to hear, but someones going to say it: fix leaks.
goodluck, let us know what works.

Good Idea on the spark plug gap. I was just thinking of that. Is it possible my coil took a dump? I had a 4 coil setup on there once and it did the same thign when I boosted more than 2 psi. (it was a custom job) with 3.5l coils

And on the leak part I got all of em fixed. Just got back from the shop this afternoon. TB was leaking so i replaced it with a spare i had layin around. So now it holds good pressure.:thumb:

Im gonna go hit up the vfaq for gapping ideas then go try it out and go from there. :|

Ok everybody the problem is fixed (Well as far as i can tell)
Dumb Me didnt check the plug gap on some new bosch platunims (yea i know those are supposed to be bad for our cars) but i just checked em tonight and my cappy wires pulled out of the metal part at the end so after fixing those I pulled the sparkplugs out and i checked em they were like 48 OMG i was like holy sheet no wonder. so i brought em down to like 26 and all is good in DSM land again. Thanks for all the ideas. And remember dont let stupididty happen to you! :thumb:

I did a boost leak check tonight. O man, was I pissed. For sum reason when installing my fmic, i completely spaced out a t-bolt clamp on one of my couplers on my LICP. The clamp was just basically hanging there. Got that fixed all up now. Still have 2 small leaks, 1. in the #2 injector, the o-ring/seal is bad. and I have another leak on the biss screw, im guessing the o-ring is shot on that. No biggie though, simple fix.

Though I STILL do cut out in first gear when i get on it. When i hit about, id say 4500-5500 rpms ,it will cut out bigtime and sputter. Not sure what it could be though.

You Check your spark plug gap? Wires?, Coil? If you have big injectors make sure its not loading up on you.(too rich)
