Boost issues need help

Best first thing to do is a boost leak test. Im sure you have a few after pushing 25psi. If you test the system and you don't find any leaks then i would move on to doing a compression and leak down tests to verify the condition of the internals of the engine. If those tests check out then i would look into the turbo/wg area. Good luck!

ps: Do you have a wideband in the car? Im assuming you do since your pushing 25psi

I'm farelly new to turbo dsm's I've had a gsx before but it was stock and none of my other 1g's were turboed and I got this one how it is so I'm still trying to get familiar with it so I'm not sure if it has wideband

Make sure to check you charge pipe. Mine is only bolted in by 2 allen key bolts. You might also want to check the lines T'd off connecting you turbo and BOV, as well as look for damaged cupplers in the intake lines.

Definately check for boost leaks. Since you're there you'll be able to check for turbo shaft play as well.

I do believe if you have an exhaust leak, that could be part of it too.

Vacuum lines should also be checked.

If all that turns out fine then move on to boost controller, and wastegate to make sure they are functioning properly.

A compression check, and leak down test are always good to do but I don't think that would affect your boost levels.

If it's a mbc make sure it's properly set up. There are tons of write ups on how to install a mbc. Depending on what type you have, there are different ways to set it up. I believe lots of people get massive boost creep from vacuum actuated mbc's as opposed to ball and spring type.

My first guess is boost leak, then exhaust leaks.

Edit* If you don't know if you have a wideband gauge, then you probably don't. And you should keep your boost down.

Thanks lets see if I can get this thing back to normal

I have a Manuel boost controller a evo 16 turbo greddy sequential bov. is a wideband gauge a type of boost gauge if so how do I know if mine is and the guy who built it was a shop in Ogden Utah and has built a lot of dsm's like mine so I know it can safely run high boost and I had a check engine light today and it boosted normal weird whats up with that when it shut off it went back to low boost confusing

Thanks everyone for all the help the header was loose very loose and the line that went from my wastegate to my boost controller was to big and didnt fit so I found smaller vacuume hose but I'm still having the issue of not boosting past 15psi and I don't know what the issue is
