Boost Gauges

Hey guys its me again. I have been reading this site all day. And since i dont have the car to drive i have been reading as much as i can about it. It seems like boost gauges are a must have. Do any of you have any suggestion of which ones to buy from where and where they are the cheapst. And the best fitting pod for a 1998 gst. I have seen some pretty lame pod gauges and i want mine to fit very well. How long does it take to install these gauges. Any web sites for that. Thank you

I use Autometers, not the best but not too expensive. Most vendors sells them. Go throught the parts catalog, and start saving them to your favorites for future price comparison.

Yea i would like them on the left side in the upper part like that picture. Where should i buy the pod and which is the best one. Some of them look really shaddy. Like i want a flush one ya know....

That is my car. It is a lo-tek full pillar pod gauge holder. It goes right over the factory one. Drill 4 holes and use the secure pins to hold it in. Looks good and fits snug. Just don't get the cheap Pep-boys one that is about 1/2 the total length of the pillar. It looks bad in my honest opinion.

The pillar's are a great place for them. I have the Lo-Tek triple guage pillar in black. Defi D-Series guages. They match stock perfectly, work extremely well (smooth action), and you can find good deals on them. You will be staring at the guages for a long time, so get the ones you really want. I also have some custom interior work done (used to look exactly like Midnght's).

Here is my set-up. Obviously, I have Autometers... some people say they're not the best and aren't as accurate as others blah blah blah, but I like mine and they've never let me down. I just can't imagine spending over $1,000 on 3-4 Defis or something. All those gauges you see here cost me less than $250 (minus the EGT TRE probe I bought seperate). I will use the money I 'saved' and put it elsewhere in my car. Again, they're good and they work just fine for me... plus they go with the inside of the car nicely.

That's ridiculous. My boost and A/F guages (D-Series) only cost me $120 each. The most expensive one (EGT with Probe) is <200.

that's almost exactly what my setup is going to be. I have my boost and egt on my a-pillar, then I'm going to get an oil pressure gauge, and electric fuel pressure gauge for the cluster.

I paid $30 for the autometer 30-0-30 boost and $210 for the Greddy EGT with peak/hold warning. Another $75 for the dual pod gauge.
