Just installed my autometer boost gauge, it says im running 18 boost..but i know its not more then 13-14..i had a MBC in their...and i am venting..so is venting the probleM? if so should i recirculate or anything else? thx

sorry, but the accuracy of autometer gauges vary from gauge to gauge. I installed a brand new 30psi gauge to replace my 20psi gauge and the new gauge said I was running 20+ psi while the old gauge said I was only running 18 psi. Go figure.

Recirculate that BOV. I know it is really bad for our cars to vent them. Then see what that gauge reads. :thumb: :talon:

No, venting won't effect the boost pressure that the guage reads, couse if the guage is connected the right way, it is taking it's reading from inside the intake mani, after the BOV. How do you "know" you arn't actualy pushing that much boost? Maybe the guage is correct, I would play around with the MBC. But my guess is that you are actualy running 18psi.

On a side note, just resurculate....it's better for your car, and better for speed, what is more important, sounding cool to the car next to you, or actualy beating the pants off him?

I've seen low boost readings due to kinked hoses, but never higher than actual. As suggested, I'm guessing your boost guage is probably correct.

i am starting to doubt my boost gauge also cause the other day i turned my mbc all the way down, and now i'm getting 9 pounds. I didnt know u could go under 10 or 11, straight vacuum line from the bov to the wastegate would give u atleast 10 wouldnt it?

Alright...im gonna recirculate ..see if its correct...and if not..check the MBC see if its really 18 PSI...thx alot guys
