So I never installed the gauge on my car, and the muppet who had it before me didn't tie it up so eventually depressing the clutch pulled the nylon line out. My question is this: can I hook up the nylon line to the small piece of tubing under the fuel pressure solinoid? As in, push it in to that and clamp it? I know most people say to use a T in the line between the intake and fuel pressure, but, there is no T in that line so it appears to me this is where he had it hooked up before?
Thanks again..

Dont jimmy anything up, just buy the t and t in the boost line to the fuel pressure regulator. If you are having problems with it getting in the way of the clutch, I had the same problem. I just ziptied it to one of the harnesses under the steering column so it didn't get in the way of any of the pedals. :thumb: Any other questions just ask I have put in a complete triple gauge pillar. I planned on putting up an article, but never got around to it.

Hey thanks... Yeah I have already ziptied mine up already, and put it through a different higher hole in the firewall too. But what connection do you need to hook up the T to the really small nylon? All the T's i've seen have been huge and NAPA couldn't come up with anything connection wise that would allow me to tap into the T?

You could try contacting the maker of the boost gauge and seeing if the have just the hardware available for purchase for the boost gauge.

It would be best to give the boost gauge it's own boost/vacuum soruce like the nipples on the thottle body. I run all wires and lines through the steering shaft boot in the firewall.

The boost gauge install is pretty simple. How ever big the outlet on the gauge is, is how big the hose and t should be. Advanced should have different size t. Thats where I got mine. A lot of people t in the fpr line. If you have a unused vacume source than you can go that route. Use the P on the throttle body, thats what I did.

I agree here, it's super important to start keeping all of your auxiliary wires coming in from one place and branching out from a more natural location. I've seen rats nest in other DSM'ers vehicles and it's just completely unsat and nasty looking not to mention poor tuning etiquette.

If I were you I'd take all the nylon and wires that were used in the previous install and convert them all back to stock. Just as if the boost gauge and mistake never existed. All new lines and then re install the gauge using manufactured supplied lines, t's, clamps, etc... You'll not only learn how to do this yourself however, you'll be sure that should a problem occur from the install or happen later on in your cars life that "X" was done right and it can't be "Y" because of "Z" hopefully you follow. I'm not that good at math :D

Depending on if you want your window washer fluid squirters or not you can take the t from there. That's were I have always taken it. Then take that t down to ## local auto parts place and buy seven feet of vacuum line that fits that t. That should be more then enough line to locate it any were on the dash thbat you want. Then hack into the fpr line with the t and that's it. Simple and easy.

If you descide to do that, the t is located on the underside of the hood in the middle of the hood

^^^ that should do the trick, you should have no issues getting the proper size T from most autoparts stores. Just make sure you secure it well after :thumb:

Hey thanks everyone for the suggestions.. I bought a STRI boost gauge with MAP and installed it with its own source at the T but I guess I got a dud sensor... so back to using the old analogue gauge in the mean time using its own vac source from the throttle body, which now works.. Guess I should have kept it simple in the first place.. Thanks again for all the help.
