boost after 3k

I don't understand... heres the scenario, when ever I'm at WOT my car like dies , it almost shuts off (has a drowning affect>if you can kinda of picture it) I'm only able to boost if i partially open the throttle once i climb(very slowly) to around 3k i start to boost, then only sometimes i get a sputtering sound right after i switch gears or open throttle and and close it, i opened up the hood to where it was comming from and sounded like it was comming from the cone of the intake.( guessing the turbo) I'm also getting white smoke after wot. whitish bluish smoke after wot. can some one please help identify the problem, thanks.

well the blue smoke is oil. the sputtering is compressor surge when you shift,

do you have any boost leaks?

check your maf sensor if its hooked up correctly that also happen to me when i did something to my car and forgot to hook up the maf. boosted partial throttle but almost died on almost wot. Also check your bov if its connected right it does sound like your getting compressor surge

yep, definitly check the maf connector, and along with that check the intercooler piping couplers.

if the above does not fix the problem, check to make sure your spark plug wires are iinstalled properly.

I think there should be a rule somewhere that states "Do a boost leak test before asking questions on cars behavior"

A lot of times it ends up being a bad leak...Could also be the ecu, mas, or something much more serious...For instance, white smoke sometimes indicates a blown headgasket...Are you having overheating issues? Not trying to complicate things but it's a worth a try

Do a boost leak/compression test and then check all the hoses/couplers and connections
