Idle at 3K after shut off and restarted help!

I have a 95 GST with hard upper intercooler piping, and whenever i go to take a drive and the car is warmed up completly and i shut the car off and come back to it 10 or so minutes later and start it the car will idle at like 3K if not more for at least 20 minutes. also when ever the car is sitting running for a while the idle will get higher and higher.

Does anyone have a guess at what is wrong? whenever it's idling high i car push the throttle body back so that the idle goes down but as soon as i let it go the idle goes back up but whenever the car is not warm it will not idle high.

Can anyone help me with it? anything help would be great. thanks!

well could be a few things, first check and make sure nothing is gettn stuck in tb, and another thing u can do is adjust your biss screw, that should do it, if not then could be something else i cant help u with. but heres a start.

Throttle cable is too tight. Heating the engine compartment is causing the cable to tighten.

Doesn't heat expand metal?

Yep you would think. But after seeing so many people here have same issue for some reason the throttlw cable when heated contracts .

how should i loosen the throttle cable? Is there an adjustment on it? or do i have to get a whole new cable?
