Bolt On Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator from ebay.. Good?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Not very familiar with Ongreenperformance, heard a lot about them recently but that's not always a good thing. Looks like a good product but then again so does a lot of stuff on eBay. I would just stick with the old reliable FPR kit from www.extremepsi.com. Throw a gauge in there with it and it still costs less that that FPR.

I agree 110% good post bro! As far as I'm concerned I use some items off of ebay but taking a chance with a FPR that you've never heard much about on your car is chancing it. I'd say just get one that you know works fine and has never had many malfunctions in the past and you would be fine.

Go on over to extremepsi.com and pick you up one and add a gauge to that order also!

-Thank you
John

It looks exactly like my Full Throttle AFPR, and I believe that's what it is. If so, mine works like a champ. Contact the seller to make sure what you're getting. That regulator has been hard to find. I like mine because you can bolt it right on, and don't have to change the fuel lines etc., as with universal regulators. BTW I got my regulator used off of EBAY, and saved myself 30 bucks.

That is exactly what it is. I have spoken to OnGreen several times last year, though hard to get a hold of on the phone, seemed very knowledgeable on DSMs. I didn't purchase the afpr from them because it was on back order then.

Hurry, edit the post and remove the link. ROFL

That was the FTS AFPR, I had Emailed OnGreen last week asking about the AFPR on thier website. The response I got was that they had gotten a small order in and sold all but two, and those were up on Ebay. I ended up calling Import Evolution, and ordering the same FTS AFPR with liquid filled pressure gauge for $180 shipped for my friends 99 GST. It showed up three days later.. We are installing it tomorrow.

I don't know...something in the pricing tells me to stay away but I can quite put my finger on it. :)

I hear ya, im almost tempted to just buy it. It reminds me when johnnyracecar intercoolers came out. I'm hoping someone has gotten one, and has some feed back.

Time for another beer :barf:

No, I was kidding about the "I can't quite put my finger on it" part:tease: , I was basically saying "It's a $20 afpr, STAY AWAY. Then again if you're careful about it, it might be worth a try since it's so cheap. Let us know what happen if you decide to try it out.

^Seriously...... I know most DSMers are about budget racing but cheaping out on something that controls this volatile substance we call gas, is not worth it IMHO. $20 for a Fuel Pressure regulator can't be made well. Hell, I even had a bolt on FPR and the sob leaked like an old faucet. I got rid of it in favor of the aeromotive AFPR. Just be careful where you save your money.

OK i ordered the fpr, I figure its worth a shot! If it sucks, then the whole dsmtuner world will know. I can always find some ricer to buy it. ohhh its chrome... LOL
Read through this article and learn how to pressurize the fuel system using the fuel pump check terminal so you can thoroughly check for fuel leaks without turning the car on. Good luck. ROFL

Hers the link to the ebay ad I was looking at

eBay Motors: Fuel Pressure Regulator Evo 8 Lancer Eclipse Talon Red (item 320202220317 end time Jan-07-08 09:06:50 PST)

I would apreciate any feedback If anyone has purchased this in the past. Or anything you can notice about this one and why it may not be suitable.

Dont waste your money. The adapters dont even remotely work on our fuel rails and the gasket they use inside is a paper thin rubber that if you sneeze on it it will tear. I have one hanging on my wall.

Wow, another several year old thread brought back from the grave...

As far as the regulator, I would say no. All the ones I've seen are NOT rising rate regulators. They don't raise fuel pressure 1:1 in relation to boost. I would stay far away....very far......
