Washington,
My car has recently been bogging once in a while in 2nd gear only. If i let of the gas and then hit it again it sometimes will boost up nice but also sometimes, it will not feel like it is boosting much but the boost gauge will read that it is spiking up to like 15 or so. I have not installed any boost controller as of yet and i am running on the stock turbo.
Would a boost leak happen only in 1 gear? and only sometimes in that gear? Most of the time there is no problem what so ever in 2nd, but it seems to be happening more and more now. Sorry about not filling in my profile, i just had to open this name up because i cant remember my password for my account and i have not had an administrator help me out with that yet. All i have done is 1g bov, clutch, flywheel, intake, boost gauge. My boost in some gears normally reads about 10 or 11 but in others it seems to be around 14 or so when i really hit it. Is that normal? I know there is no boost controller hooked up or anything, but could it be raised another way?

Thanks. ---Ryan.

Sounds like boost leak

So a boost leak can come and go, and only be in one gear as well? I always just figured it would be more of a constant problem if it was a boost leak. would a boost leak make it spike sometimes as well? It seemed to spike up very high for a moment.

It seems to be happening alot more all of a sudden now, but still only in second gear. Have not had anything happen at all in any other gear. It now happens about half the time or more in second.

Is that how a boost leak would feel? It now seems to happen in 1st and 3rd all of a sudden as well. I can hear it boosting up it just doesn't seem to be getting any pull at all. if i really step on it sometimes it seems like it will get boost and it will accelerate quickly, but other times will just bogg and feel very slow. Is this how a boost leak most likely would feel? Would a small leak cause alot of bogging? It still reads that there is the correct amount of boost or even a little more at times. Seems to spike up to like 14 or 15 occasionally.

Does this definately sound like boost leak? Or something else?
