So to start, in hopes in putting in this title. I was hoping other threads would have popped up to see if my question could be answered. However it said to try again ad kept failing. So I am just posting my questions.

So lets start off with what I have. 98 Eagle Talon ESI. The previous owner put a body kit on. Now that I am switching everything over to more stock. I have some wonders. I understand that their really is no major difference between eclipse and talons. However, I am wondering if a 2gb eclipse bumper would fit on my talon? What I mean is, do I need to do any modifications on mounting points. I know that 2gb talons do not have side skirts. I do not know though if their was any trim on the door piece. So is their trim on the door piece? I have one from when the previous owner put the body kit on which includes side skirt. I am not sure though if he swapped the entire door, since their are holes for the trim piece. To the rear bumper. Is their a difference between the 2ga and 2gb rear bumper? does it mount any different? Thank you for reading and hope I can get some help before really purchasing body panels.


Side note, if their is no trim piece for the doors on the talon. What are peoples opinions on fixing the holes (since they might be eclipse doors then)? I was personally thinking of just using a body filler. Not sure if their is any other way of doing it.

I know you can fit a 2gb eclipse bumper to your talon with no problem. The only issue I can think of is that there is a difference in 2ga headlights versus the 2gb's. Talons never received 2gb headlights so if you still have OEM 2ga headlights on your car and fit a 2ga bumper on it, then there will be a visible gap between the contour of the lights and the 2gb bumper cover. So, if you're going to change to a 2gb bumper, be sure you have a set of 2gb headlights too.

As for the door trim, talons did come with a thin door molding mounted at a slight angle along the door. If you have holes in the door, you most likely have talon doors. I would just find that trim and re install it. It looks cool in my opinion. Also, talons did have skirts that are commonly referred to as "twisties" due to their contour, but I believe they would only found on TSi models (correct me if I am wrong, talon guys).

Lastly, I don't think there is any difference between mounting points on rear bumpers. The eclipse bumper versus the talon bumper is different, however. It's up to your preference as far as what you want to mount.

This is to convert to talon, but if you want to put eclipse parts on, it should be the reverse. Rear bumper brackets would be the hardest part.

Thank you all, i never noticed a difference between 2ga and 2gb headlights. However I feel like I must have mispoken. My car is a Talon. The rear end will stay the same. How it was wired already. I had the clear tail lights so their was no real need to convert the rear tail light wiring. The front end however, I am unsure if I have the 2GA or GB headlights. I just know the headlights are aftermarket and most likely will be replaced with some kind of newer aftermarket. I am excited to try to get the money to do all this. I have a image in my mind on how I want it to look like when its all said and done. I am already in love with it. I can not wait to post after photos.
