blue smoke...not good

i have a 90 talon tsi, but lately im getting blue smoke when i start my car in the morning, so as it idles, im burning oil. i have a cracked exhaust manifold to, but i don't think thats the problem. anyone have this happen to there 1G talon? what can i do to fix it

Do a leakdown test on the car. It'll reveal if the burning oil is from bad rings, bad valves or valve stem seals, or a turbo that's on it's way out.

yeah its the bad rings we had, had that happen to our friends 91 Talon and it was the rings,seals etc change them out and youll be find

Not sure how soon you can afford to spend the money to fix the problem.

But if you would like to stop burning oil RIGHT NOW, for very little money, use Lucas Oil Stabilizer.

About 1 quart every 1500 miles works good.

You use it in place of 1 quart of motor oil. Pour it in with the car warmed up and idling, that way it easily gets mixed into the oil. Only add it when you need to add a quart of oil, or substitue it for a quart of oil when you change the oil.

As far as a permanent fix, you would need to either replace the rings and/or the valve guide seals.

Or just a rebuild actually
