free mods and datallogger. recent freshen up on motor new rings crank and rebuilt head mls hg. broke in moto man way.
after 3000 miles after brake in i went for hwy cruise was going down a long hill in gear. I hit the gas and it looked like i dropped atomic smoke bomb right in the hwy.OMG and that was it. no smoke @ idle or under boost only on deceleration.
I have a catch can stuffed with brillo between the pvc + i.m.
CCV to air and a plug on the intake.
I decided to return the pvc to stock and install the catch can from ccv to the intake. much worse smoking most of the time very bad between boosted shifts.
now for details. turbo is leaking with a little shaft play and is @ max boost (14psi)by 3k. car runs tits. smoke is blue and sometimes gray.
comp test= 125psi all 4. altitude here is 7000ft.
comp test with oil=175 all 4.
so i guess my Q would be why am i smoking a lot more with my ccv hooked up to the intake and besides my working failing turbo whats next rings and valve seals? rebuild it right the next time? im like the only dsmer within 1000 miles of the next one in a 2 light town:barf:

I'd say valve seals. If its only when you decelerate, being the TB plate is closed, and the engine drawing vacuum will suck oil from the valve stem seals and burn it.

cool, thanks guys for the input appreciate it. pulled the inter cooler had some oil in it and my return line did have a small kink in it.. probably washed out what they like to call bearings:beatentodeath:

Yep, valve seals, or you didn't get the rings seated properly on that break-in ...

I've seen engines that did that, engine wouldn't smoke when on decel, only on hard gear shifting. What was happening was for that split second the rings were unseating.
