ive read the few threads on blown power window fuses. from what i understand it can be a short, a relay (which i have no understanding of), a blown window motor or something binding in the door. i rolled down the window all the way, drove 10 mins to the doctors office, and it wouldnt roll back up, neither would the passenger window roll down. popped the hood and check the fuse. it looked old so i figured it just expired. i replaced it and the other blew to. whats your guys advice on which prob it may be and where to start. im a total noob when it comes to auto electrical systems.

You have to have some corrosion sumwhere in your wiring...Look for creen crap on wires, that's the corrosion..I would take the door panal off and start there, that's the easiest place to check..

There's a couple common things that can cause this. If the window lift motor is pulling to much amperage, it can blow the fuse. This could be the issue, as the motor ran the window down, but when adding the weight of the window going back up. (Puts more load on the motor than going down) Second, the wires in door jambs in all cars get brittle over time with opening and closing the door. Use a screwdriver to pop the black rubber conduit in the door back and see if you see broken wiring in there that can be shorting out. Both windows feed power through the driver switch, which is why the passenger side window won't operate after the fuse blew. On a side note, pop the switch out of the door and make sure it doesn't look melted.

My guess is the window motor has is the fault but I hate just telling people "it's probably this or that" Hope that helps

ok, i pulled the door panel and unplugged the window switch and put another fuse in to see if it would still blow...and it did. that would rule out the door area and window motor right? since the circuit wouldnt have been in use? where to next? this is driving me crazy. my window has been down for 2 days. is there a way to atleast manually raise the window until i find my problem?
also is there a way to check if its fixed other than plugging another 4$ fuse in and see if it blows? as well as any clue to what else runs through that fuse. im digging through my haynes manual now.

i found this as well

okay, i unplugged everything in teh door, still blew fuses. pulled teh fuse box and looked inside, looked okay, pulled the window relay and started the car, didnt blow the fuse. plugged all thewindow stuff back in and didnt blow a fuse, and now my windows work...??? must have been a short somewhere and i moved a wire away from whatever it was shorting to?
