Ok so I was driving yesturday and hit a big pothole and my car shut off. I checked my ignition fuse and it was blown. I put in a new one and it blew as soon as I tried to crank the car. So was just wondering were should I check for this possible short from hitting a pothole?

Was it wet out..i.e. pothole full of water? Could be water got into somethign it shouldn't have.

That is very weird either way.

Then you have a loose conection or some insulation worn off a wire so that when you hit a bump or vibration it cause a short

This might be a stretch but on my 1g I had something like this happen. Before i put my motor mounts in my car would blow the fuse under acceleration. It turned out that a wire on my harness was grounding to the negative wire off my battery. The insulation had worn off from rubbing together for so long and it started grounding out and popping the fuse. I adjusted the wires so they didn't contact anymore and taped them up again.

Problem solved. I managed to rip out the ignition wire on the harness inside the d/s fender on that pothole. It was grounding on the frame. So to prevent it from happening again I extended all the wiring in there 2".
