hey some people say to plug the line going to the gas tank not vent it to the atmosphere , so who is right

I have never read about someone saying to plug the line. It should be vented. If you don't want to smell fuel, you can either cut it so it's under the car or add another hose and bend it 180* and point the opening towards the rear of the car.
 
just like snowboarder said, i added vac line and tucked it out of the engine bay.
 
Don't plug the line.

I just found this. My line has been pluged for years and Ialwyas have a ton of pressure when I open the gas cap but I just assumed that it was from the Walbro fuel pump that I installed around the same time. I'll unplug it and vent it under the car. Thanks for clearing this up. I'm sure I read somewhere on here to plug it.
