Blocked off intake snorkel pipe?

So, when I upgraded to the HKS 4, I had the snorkel pipe on my intake just hanging out since my BOV wasnt circulating anymore. I just blocked it off not thinking about it. I read to be able to block it off, you need a MAFT???

Should I unblock that snorkel pipe on my cold air intake?

I am not running link or maft

The ssq.Im pretty sure they make a recirc pipe for that.Unless the recirc option is a different bov part number than the one you bought.

Yes to vent it properly you will need a gm maf and maft.

Either way you do it on the stock maf.The car will probaly die or want to die when you push the clutch in.

Its auto, and ive had it blocked off for a month now with no issues. I wasn't sure if it was hurting my car or not.

Auto ok that makes sense cause autos dont loose boost pressure when shifting.

So does the car want to die when u let off the gas then, or you havnt noticed anything out of the ordinary?

If you are on stock MAF your BOV should be recirculated.

I havn't noticed anything out of the ordinary haha. I was reading a random forum about how if you get a MAFT, you can now block off that BOV snorkel pipe. I definitely do not have a MAFT and I got nervous since I already do that

Since you are not recirculating the bov and your on maf still, the car will run rich. It might not be dying since its auto, but it will be running rich. Try recirculating until you can go maft or speed density with dsmlink v3. I found this fitting, does it fit?

Ohh its not even a ssq..."custom" recirc pipe bro..Cut the hose from an old vaccume and attach both sides with a clamp.

you can leave it plugged. ever car seems to be different when it comes to the venting of the bov. mine works just fine with out and changes. others i have seen some for my self will die when you let off the gas when stopping or at least want to stall out. your car might run a little rich too. the ecu is thinking that it is getting that air when ever you let off the gas so it adds a little to match the air coming in from be hind the MAF.

This is what I was looking for. I prob do need that fitting, I was not aware. I thought I would just block off the pipe since the HKS didn't come with an adaptor like that. Thanks for the info!

Ohh it is NOT the ssq..Well then the adapter and "custom" recirc pipe, and youre good to go.

Yup i was away for a bit but i sent you the link man, they sell them in different inner diameter, so pick right one to match hose, makes it easier.
