black vinyl door panel

Since there never was a stock black interior for the 1g we have to fabricate it ourselves. It's a gradual process but last night I did one of the door panels to add to the over all theme. It was very easy to do and took about 3 hours with a bit of patience.

I striped the panels and sprayed it with the specific vinyl spray. Then I re-wrapped the smaller panels with perforated black vinyl. I also no longer have door speakers so the panels just very slick and clean

If there's enough interest I can create a detailed how-to article with pictures. Let me know what you think

What did you use to secure the vinyl to the back of the panel?

i like the chair balancing act! black looks nice but i don't know if I would want an all black interior. i kind of like the gray/black combo. Overall the work quality looks good though!

How far did u strip them ? Did u strip the foam backing off also , and a how to would be nice .

I oringally took mine off and the whole piece comes off then i used glue, no i just painted the whole door, as is.

Hot glue

How far did u strip them ? Did u strip the foam backing off also , and a how to would be nice .

The stock cloth comes off as one peice with a foam backing. The new material that I used has some foam padding on it also

What brand of vinyl paint did you use on the door panels? I tried using some vinyl paint on my 2g that i got from an actual paint specialty store and it comes off pretty easy, less than a year and its rubbing off.

i did the same thing but mine are all discolored im gonna have to re do them dono what happed
