yeah FWD does have its fun points but I think my car would just feel soo much faster if I could make use of 1st and 2nd gear instead of just spinning through them.

Thats the truth! My Gs-t feel so slow. Spinning through 1st and 2nd, finally it hooks up through 3rd then really sets you back in the seat. :D

That's sweet I'd pay to see that!

:dsm:

That's with out dumping the clutch to. The big 28 spools so fast there is no need to dump the clutch.

Instructions for rolling burn out:

First get going about 40mph then place pedal firmly to the floor and try to keep the wheel strait. See it's just three easy steps. Oh yea you also need a few mods.

OK a a stupid Q then...-)

The Big28 and the iller 28 are both bolt ons right?I am thinkingof the Big 28 for my Spyder since I am in the beginning of the supporting mods but more will come. The Big28 sounds right for my plans and if its a bolton it will do for me for a long while :)What power can be expected from the Big28?How much can it give?

WOW, thats one serious time zone difference, instead of like 6 hours, its about 3 weeks, haha, but anyway i have a GST spyder too, and i have the basic supporting mods with lots more on the fuel side coming soon, and i am also thinking about the big t28 or big t28 killer, because 1...its bolts up easliy except perhaps the water line, 2...it retains its stock appearance, and 3....when properly tuned can provide one hell of a fast street driven dsm.....i can't wait to get mine, good luck with yours

i think the big t28 or t28 killer can support up to about 360 or so hp, matched with a pretty quick spool up, its one nice street turbo

360hp, damn for a stock looking turbo. That is friggin nuts. I dont know why I stepped up to a basketball size turbo. That thing would be great for street racing (which I dont do anymore, too dangerous).

that 360 hp also has to come with the right supporting mods of course, but i'm near 250 whp with the t-too small and basic bolt ons and no fuel mods, or internal mods, i think the hp potential for the big t 28 is listed on slowboys, or agp's website, i just need a hard fast spooling turbo that will whup up on the street, so i'm looking forward to getting that and keeping the stock look

I think people should give the automatic tranny cars a brake. They really are strong, you just have to not let them slip. Get the shift kits and end clutch. That makes a huge difference. Also remember to never let the car go into overdrive with the pedal to the metal. You WILL blow it out.

I have a friend that has made a tranny controller so that you can control when the transmission will shift. IT shifts the car hard!!! I am waiting to go for a ride in the car when the motor gets broke in. So I have only been up to 4000 rpms and his turbo won't come on until over 5000 rpms. (Damn T66 :) )

The Big T-28 Killer has a larger compressor
housing , it does not utilize the stock T-28
compressor housing. It uses a larger modified Garrett T-3 compressor housing .
So it will look stock to the untrained eye..... but if they know what they are looking for well......:D I guess you could say well ... hell I don't know make something up ! :p

I personaly tell poor C-5 & Z-28 owners
that my Stage II Godzilla under the hood of my 95 GST that it's a " Strange sounding 14B:laugh: " Then they say.." Well I guess
that's cool ..thats just the stock turbo out of a 1G right ?" Then I say "OH yeah! I think so"

Will the Big T-28 Killer still bolt on as stock ?Any mods there necessery to make it fit?Or is it just the compresor housing thats different?

I have set my goals to 350+ in the Spyder so the Killer 28 would be just fine:) New fuelpump on its way as well as new exhaustsystem and some more stuf..so it should be ok:)

The Killer bolts right up. You only have to tweak the upper water line to clear the housing. No biggie. ;)

Well i've got some updates. Finally got to up the boost a bit. I installed RC550 inj, S-AFC, and 190lph pump a couple weeks ago. I gave it a conservative tune and raised the boost to 19-20 psi. OMG what a difference from 14 to 19. This turbo really come alive past 16 psi. Spool up is still wicked fast coming in at 19 psi around 3,000 rpm.

I had an encounter with a BPU 01 Stang GT last night. It was no contest. We punched it at 40 and I put 4-5 lenghts on him by 100. Sweet! At 19 psi its really starting to feel 'almost' as strong as the 20g in my GS-T.

I can't wait until I get my FMIC. LOL I still haven't decided between the IRC, AHP or the Hahn. :p

Later.

I ordered the Killer from Turbochargers.com a couple weeks ago. As I expected, customer service was top notch. I rec'd it last night and had it in a few hours. As arrived the turbine housing wasn't ported. I gave it a quick porting to remove the step to match my ported manifold. The install went smooth. You have to bend the water lines a bit to clear the compressor housing, but thats about it. I haven't had a chance to take it for a real ride yet, but my first impressions are very good. Spool is very quick considering the big16 wheel. Keep in mind this is on an auto. I have the boost low at 15 psi for now and i had full boost by 2,800 - 3,000 rpm. Boost is much smoother and linear compared to the T-25. Pulls strong with no creep or fall off to redline. As soon as I upgrade the injectors, fuel pump and AFC, I'll raise the boost. I'm very happy with it so far. :thumb:

I was wondering if you experienced any boost creep. I just had my T28 Killer installed also and am having major boost creep, sometimes up to 25+psi. I can't floor it or anything b/c I would run the risk of blowing the engine. The exhaust mods that I have include an Apexi 3'' DP and N1 catback. I don't have any fuel mods yet, but Mike from DSS suggested that I bring it back and have the turbo and 02 housing ported or I can put my stock downpipe and cat on. What do you think?

Get a full port job...O2 housing, wategate, everything...u should get zero boost creep after that...

I'm fully ported manifold, turbine and O2 housing and I get no creep. It holds 19 psi solid to redline. I ported it all before I installed the turbo, so I have no non-ported comparison.
Definitely port them out... don't choke your exhaust with the stock crap.

I'm planning on doing that when I get some cash together. That means I blew 150 bux on the initial install, b/c now everything has to come off. Would it be more wise if I got a O2 eliminator downpipe instead of yanking everything off and porting? Would that work the same and prevent boost creep?

An O2 eliminator downpipe would be better then porting your existing O2 housing. Far superior flow and virtually eliminates creep. The turbine and manifold could really use a nice port job. The stock turbine flows like crap as is. I would drop the money and get it done right the first time. You'll thank yourself later when you run some serious boost. ;)

Well, I already have the downpipe, would it be better if I just bought a brand new 02 sensor housing instead of ripping everything apart? The guy at DSS said that porting the wastegate is the best way, but I am not sure about that nor do I have the cash for it.

Porting $100 per port job X 3
Parts to be ported: wastegate, o2 housing, exhaust manifold

Uninstall and Reinstall = $300 dollars

That is a grand total of $600 dollars, the only reason I cannot do the installs myself is because I am a full time student and don't have time or facility to do it.

Or I can: get the o2 eliminator d/p off of the trader for around 200+/- and install it myself b/c it won't take that long

-get a used o2 housing that is alread pre-ported off the trader for around 200 also.

Either way I am saving $400 dollars if I don't follow what DSS advises. Any comments on my plan?

If I were you, I'd go the cheaper route. When I ported my turbine housing, I didn't touch the wastegate flapper hole at all. And I have no boost creep to speak of. I would say most of your creep would be reduced with the O2 housing. Also, that seems a little much for the porting. Your best bet would be the eliminator d/p from the trader.
Let us know how it turns out.

i kno this is a little out of what we're all talkin about but my buddy has a t-28 in his 1g (he got the turbo for almost no cost) and the car hauls ass i was just wondering if anyone else knows anyone that has done this or themselves have doen this to their 1g??

Dave

stangtt u have a stang with a twin turbo kit? my sister boyfreind has the same in his stang i have never been in a car as crazy as that thing its all street and the ####in thing is in the low 10's high 9's? if u do have a twin turbo what turbos are you using?? i think he has the t-66 tt not sure

I wasnt too sure on which turbo to upgrade too. My car is auto so i wanted something to spool quick yet still hold boost to redline. I was debating between a 14b, 16g/big16g, or a t28. After reading this thread, i'm dead set on getting the T28 Killer. My heart beats faster just thinking about it. =P 19psi is the max i would set my boost too. Just hoping for low 13's. Is that too much to ask?
