Big16G for 250, should i pick it up?

A friend of a friend is selling his big 16g for 250, which seems like a steal to me. I wanted to buy a new Evo316g, but the price difference is like $300. The thing is that this turbo is slightly used but apparently its in good condition. I just dont wanna buy it and then have problems with it down the line, i'd rather get something new. Is this logical or am i being stupid and should i just buy it for that price?

I'd say go for it. In fact, that's what I did. I bought a Big16g off a friend, used for $300 and it's in excellent condition. Another friend has the Evo316g and it creeps like crazy, but my Big16g doesn't.

is there a big flow difference between the two? i heard the evo3 flows almost as much as a 20g. Is spool-up time similar?

The evo3 does flow a little better though.

How many miles on it? Have you inspected it?

Obviously you need to know these things to make a rational decision.
