Here comes a story, but cliffnotes are available at the bottom:

I bought a 91 Talon 2.0 non turbo 5 speed for $750 to drive to college, then one day I was driving and the transmission fell off the block ( a few inches ) due to loose transmission bolts. I got new bolts and bolted it up and everything was fine. 1 day later it wouldn't start, so i looked at the starter. It was held on by 1 bolt, and crooked. It appeared that the flywheel was too small. Anyhow, I did some research. I have the f5m33 turbo transmission but have a nonturbo flywheel, hence the reason the starter wont fit I presume. Anyhow, I rigged the starter on and it starts fine now.

More problems: The car won't go in gear anymore. I can put it in any gear I want when the car is off, making me believe the clutch isn't disengaging properly. Regardless, it won't go in gear and when the clutch is pushed in there is a squeaking type of noise from the transaxle area.

I checked the master cylinder, which seems to be ok, as well as the slave. The clutch is adjusted all the way out, yet still engages about 1/4 inch from the floor.

Ideas?

Cliffnotes: Won't go into gear and I've checked out the hydraulic system as well as adjusted the clutch, have any ideas?

Have you tried bleeding it?

also look on the underside of the dash where the clutch master cylinder comes through the firewall and see if its leaking on that side. Also check the rubber line from the tranny the passengerside fender/engine bay.

If none of this works and the clutch master cylinder isnt leaking and the slave cylinder isnt either you can do a cpl things.

By a v8 pushrod and pull the rod out of ur slave cylinder and cut it down to be bout 1/4 inch longer than the factory rod and that will give you a little excess.

Otherwise I would check for a cracked shift fork or messed up pressure plate. Let me know if that doesnt work then it can get quiet a bit more indepth.

Well I figured out the problem.

The noise and everything just kept getting worse and worse, so I bought a parts car with a good transmission (the correct NT tranny) and an intake, header, exhaust, sway bars, test pipe, etc. I decided to swap it in.

Anyhow, so I took my turbo tranny off and when I did my throw out bearing fell off. In 4 pieces :thumbdown . So, there was the problem! :talon:
