Resolved Big ASS crack in my SBR exhaust manifold

I have a huge crack in my SBR exhaust manifold. Does anybody else run their first cast manifold from last year? Are cracks a common problem in this manifold? If you did have any cracks, what did SBR do for you? Please help me out. I tried to reasearch this topic but I found nothing. Thanks

With a crack that bad there must of been a defect in that manifold from the start.

DAMN, that not good at all . My 1g mainfold wasnt that cracked. If it was me I would be getting a new mainfold for FREE

Holly Sh*t, thats a huge crack. I've had mine on for about 6 months and as far as I know there are no cracks in it, but then again I haven't taken my heat shield off, maybe I should . I would hope that would be a warranty issue.

Ok.. our very first run of those manifolds there were a few that were thin.. We didnt realise it until after we sold about ten of them. And we found about 5 thin ones out of teh total first run. We only welded those egt bungs in on three manifolds (part of the first 10) before we started machining the notch where they were for most of them. So this must have been a thin one of the first 10 we sent.. email me [email protected] and i will take care of this.. I just need the old manifold here for warranty to make sure to measure the thickness for myself. Once i get that one i will get you another one. If i dont have another one of the style you have, I will see about just giving you one of the new updated with the ext gate option for a free replacement.. Sorry for this.

Just got my manifold off. Take a look at this. And I thought the cracks were just surface but they go all the way through.

look at the cracks inside the collector. Maybe SBR will send me new gaskets and a beanie hat for the trouble!

She's gonna run MUCH better when the exhaust is actually spooling the turbo

Holy Shnikeys! I too run SBR's original manifold, I have had it for about 6 months and other than discoloring, mine has held up fine, gaskets and all.

That is not one of the early manilfold's as you can tell from the Position of the EGT Tap.

Ps If you guys had of sprayed some high temp paint on those puppies when they were new they would still look new, I know mine does
