big 16g will only give 15psi

Hey guys I'm calling upon the dsm gods again. So I just bought a 97 tsi with a 16g and a bogging problem. It took me three days to figure out that it had 550cc injectors in it causing the bog. Swapped them out and it runs great. I'm buying a safc2 soon and I want to crank up the boost. I have a boost controller but I think there is something wrong with the wastegate. No matter how much I turn it up it will be at 10pai. Intill it is fully closed then it will reach 15. I even unplugged muly boost controller from the wastegate and plugged the other end so there were no boost leaks. It still only made 15psi. Is there something wrong with my turbo? Please excuse crappy spelling in some spots. im on my phone

Did you do a boost leak test? And if so, did you pressurize the system greater than 15psi?

If you have checked to make sure the wastegate actuator isn't staying stuck open, I would do a boost leak test to 15+psi

I don't have a tester and I haven't made one yet. I took the arm off of the flapper yesterday and both the arm and the flapper can move freely. I have a set of headers and an 02 housing I want to put on so ill pull the old one off andtake a look

I bet you have a leak on the exhaust side...

There is a boost leak somewhere, make a boost leak tester and youll find it.

just following up, the blow off valve was leaking back into the intake. problem resolved.

Make sure you have a mechanical boost gauge to read actual boost levels.
