big 16g pulls at 4500 rpms? This correct?

I just installed a big 16g turbo. I am boosting it at 14 psi. I do not have fuel pump or injectors just yet. I will install them soon. Well took it for a test drive and it pulls at 4500 rpms consitantly. Is that turbo supposed to spool that high? Could it be just a boost leak?

Boost leak and you are running lean very bad for motor, get the supporting mods on there

pulls to about 6000 with light/moderate mods.

You mean to say that it doesn't hit full boost until 4500? If that is the case, then that is definitely not right.

Anyway I don't understand the problem. I think elaboration is appropriate.

I will turn down the boost. Yes, by "pulls" I mean that it doesn't hit full boost untill 4500 rpms. I figured people knew what that term meant.

Do a boost leak test to determine if you have a boost leak. Don't ask us if you have one.

also check to make sure that you don't have any pre-turbo exhaust leaks. I.E. all bolts are tight and gaskets are good.
You might want to make sure that your waste gate is closing tightly
