Bi Xenon HIDs.

Im having a little trouble finding my answer on this subject...

Bi Xenon HIDs are HIDs that have both a high and low beam feature, from the same bulb. I know its a special bulb, thats a given. What I cant figure out is, is it also a special ballast? Ive done quite a few HID installs, and from what Ive seen from the BiX kits, they look 100% normal...

I cant seem to find if they are the same ballast type as a normal HID kit, just with different bulbs. They would need a 3rd wire, correct? Not one site ive found explains this, or has something listed for "BiXenon Ballast," only Bi bulbs.

(I did come across kits that use a Halogen bulb for the highs, wired onto the high beam power...thats not what Im looking to do.)

And to add,i know DSMs arent h4/9003 dual bulbs, this is for my Versa.

Not if your getting the nice HID's that have one HID Bulb in a Actuator, Its a normal balast, just has two wires to operate the actuator. And there is no reason to get them for 9004's... Because 9004 Reflector housings don't have high beam angles.

They are 9003s (which are H4) and have a high/low bulb option on the site im using...yet nothing explaining details. I looked it up and alot of people have dual beam HIDs.

Actual Bi Xenon HIDs (like what the OEMs use) has absolutely nothing to do with the bulb nor the ballast but rather the projector. The projector has a movable shield which allows more light to come cut that was previously blocked by the cut off shield.

Now in regards to the kits that have a high beam (it's actually just a mini bulb and sucks as a high beam fyi), there are extra wires that go to your factory high beam wires.
