Best trans build for my application??

I am going to be getting a new tranny next week, and need some experienced input from my fellow tuners. My mods are in my profile, and I will be tuning the car a bit more as I am buying DSMLink also. The only thing I will have left to do is build a new bottom end sometime in the feature. I do not plan on running over 500 whp ever, probably closer to 450 or so. Please let me know how you all think I should have the tranny built.

A few things that are a must:

Double syncro 2nd and 3rd
Upgraded 2nd gear
4 spider diff.
Taller 5th gear

Oh and $ wise, I want to spend $1600-$2,000 total. I was thinking of building the perfect 90 stock tranny I have, and converting it to a 92 style, as I have the 92 linkage/shifter. OR Sending the GVR4 tranny in as a core when I get the new one, or both.....

well i was just in the same boat as you were, i got away with it for 1800- this consisted of a gvr4 1st gear, double synchro/heavy duty 2nd, hevy duty race 3/4 gearset, all new seals, bearings, a new shift fork which i broke , all new synchros, sliders+hub assemblies, and other stuff ,that price included the cost of pulling the tranny out, putting it back in and paying the tranny rebuild shop to rebuild it for me,,,,,,,,,,, the only things lacking which im kicking myself in the ass for are A 4 SPIDER CENTER DIFF AND THE TALLER 5TH GEAR .

I take it you did not go with TRE or shep... Where did you get the parts from, TRE?? Thanks for the reply by the way. Luckily I can do all the labor, so I just need a tranny.

I would take it to Shep.. He is kind of a perfectioneost when it comes to his work and wont let it out of the shop if he feels its not good enough.Just my .02

Send it to Shepard, he will make the transmission according to what you will be doing with the car and sell you what you need.
