im looking for some new tires for my 1st gen FWD car. It's pushing close to 300hp and want some tires that wont break traction when i get on it. But i'd like some tires that wont wear away quickly and not spend a lot of $. Some people have told me to get some Kumho ECSTA ASX but i'd like to get your opinions on it. It's lowered 1 1/2 inches, also how wide should i get? stick with 205? i have 205 z rated tires on it now with a 55 side wall but they lose traction too easily....

i heard that the new falken azinas were pretty good, i want to buy them but i havent had a chance yet

i just bought a set of dunlop sp super sports they were like 150 a piece, and they are awesome.

You probly never heard of them but I just got some FULDA Quantum Elites and the stick like hell. I launch at 4000 and dont spin barley and I mean barley at 5800 so they are very nice tires. They were 100 bucks at NTB. Try them If you dont like them but they work for me and look at my mods. Traction was a issue. <--- Still is but its a hell of alot better.

ive got the kdw 2's on my car i love them they grip nicly ive had them a couple of months havent worn much at all and they look sick. i dont have a fwd or 300hp though but i really like them they have a really nice solid fell to them

Just remember that with tires you USUALLY get what you pay for. I was considering some more yokos like i have now...but I think I"m going with the Mich Pilot Sport PS2s....I know uber expensive...but they're sweet. We have a shot on the shop Corvette, and I have tore the shit out of these tires and they look like new. :thumb:

How much does the sticky tire affect wheel hop? I heard from a few people that without wheel hop mods, the sticky tire can make the car hop pretty bad.

on 225/50/16 Bridgestone potenzas...they hook like all hell....i get NO wheel hop what so ever :tease: ...i also got KYB shocks/struts energy S springs and prothane motor inserts

i ended up goin with 215 Kumho ecsta asx, still lose traction in 1st and 2nd when getting on it...

Do NOT get Kumho 712's for a FWD with any type of power. They are amongst the worst tires I've ever ran.

I have 245-45-17 Azenis Sports on my FWD. They hook VERY nice once they get heat in them.

Kuhmo MX.

Great traction, tread design and rubber quality. DO NOT CONFUSE with 712s.

I have Nitto NT555R's on my car. I think that they are pretty good. Spin a little bit but not bad. Plus when you warm them up some they are quite sticky tires. I don't remember how much I paid for them, but they weren't to expensive. Good luck with your selection though. :thumb:

i had bfg kdw 1st design and ill say i loved them heat nicely with a little burn out and have to clean the rocks off after words they are sticky as anything you could want and hold wet roads good too i will be getting a new set as the lasted maybe 9000 miles. :dsm:

Nitto 555r's are great street tires. They hook as good as anything else I've found, the problem is wheelhop. They are wheelhop crazy at the track. That's the only reason I couldn't recommend these.
