I'm in the market for a turbo, nothing too big I only plan to run 8 psi. I'm looking for a turbo that has a t3 flange and when installed, the compressor outlet will be facing downward, not toward the head like most do. I have a Star manifold if that helps any.

I would go with an Ebay (Godspeed) actually good for the money. You will spend only around $150 for
a t3 T04E 50 trim turbo. You can get them in a few different flavors as well like internally gated or not. hope that helps. They also offer warranty on their stuff.

How reliable are those Godspeed turbos? I see them allover eBay but I don't hear many good ratings about them.

Personally... i would never touch anything ebay branded. but just a personal preference.

Tons of people have luck with "eBay turbos" on low boost applications.
I'd recommend buying something you know will be reliable, but you'd most likely be just fine with an eBay turbo at 8psi.

I have seen several instances of the Godspeed turbos holding up fairly well. However as Jusmx pointed out to me this afternoon, these turbos are marketed as something they are not. A lot of times you'll see like a T-70 in the name, but it's specs are closer to a 57 trim. Just make sure you read the fine print before you click that buy it now button.

Godspeed turbos are not know to last long, they usually blow due to them being unbalanced. I'm not trying to bash there company, I just have a few friends that had them, and did not last more than 1000 miles. Also If anything I would T25 it because the 420a's can not hold much boost at all because simply they are a non turbo engine.

That style manifold? I would try to find a garrett off of a volvo or a ford 2.3. You may also be able to fit a HY35 or a HE351 (not the VGT HE351VE, the successor to the HY35 the HE351). The volvo or ford units will spool up quick and give you the 8psi you want and fit for sure. I dunno about fitment of the HY or HE, but they will do wayyy more than 8psi.

ive, been looking at a kit from fastwayracer with a turbonetic turbo, fromwhat ive seen you have to change the ecu or re-program it. possibly change the pistons and rings to support a higher psi, although im still a noob but learn what i can.

I definitely wouldnt trust an ebay turbo ive gone through 2 and will never go back LOL but get a quality turbo that wont give u problems later. My boy got a precision 4831B with a .48 turbine side and it spool really fast. I think its a great turbo if your looking for a T3 turbo that will spool fast and makes good power at 8psi. But if you have the choice of other sizes Id go with a 16g preferably evo3 16g but you'd need to make a manifold for it.

Yes that style manifold. What's the name of those volvo turbos? And thanks to all the other peoples suggestions but I was asking for a turbo that will have the compressor outlet facing down when installed.

Can you? I've always thought that I'd have to line up the notch to the clocking pin on the compressor housing.
