Just get a 3". That way you will be able to avoid having to buy another when installing a bigger turbo.

I just cut out the resonater and replaced it a a straight pipe on my car's stock system and connected a racing magnaflow muffler. The problem is that i bought a turbo kit and would it be at all possible to to everything 3 inch escept the spot were it connects to the muffler which is 2.25 inch, because I dont want to get rid of the muffler-its brand new. Or would a 3 inch be worthless if it goes back to a 2.25 inch just before it connects to the muffler. The muffler it self is almost a 4 inch straigt flow. thanks

anyone know how the hks cf exhaust sounds, performs and looks in person, i could get one for 400 and just wondering about it

It sounds good, just get custom piping to make it 3" all the way back.

from my expoirance, the thermal and extreme technologys sound and perform the best, i would take the thermal over the extreme, but they are pretty much the same excapt the latter is made by extreme motorsports and uses thrir muffler instead of the thermal, sound is almost the same
iv also heard good things about the rnr system, and i have never seen a tanabe exhaust that didnt sound and perform great, best sounding all motor honda iv ever heard had a tanabe exhaust on it

and yea, a 3" exhaust would be pretty much worthless if there is a 2.25" muffler at the end, your exhaust would only be able to flow as much air as it would cram through the muffler, which means you wold basicaly have the performance of a 2.25" exhaust

a 3" turbo back pretty much sounds the same no matter who makes it as long as they are using straight through mufflers. i've seen many cars with diff. exhausts, but they sound very similar. i used a 3" dp, witha 3" custom exhaust and an apexi dunk muffler and it sounded nice. of course the coolest was before we put the muffler on, as it was all straight pipe.
on my next car, i'm going with a 3" dp and a 3" side exit exhaust with no muffler.....sikk

One of my buddies has a thermal on his GS-T. Nice exhaust full 3" all the way back including dp. From what I have read it's supposed to be one of the best performance exhaust out there,
http://www.jumptronix.com/2g_go_faster/Stages/details/CatBack.htm some info on thermal thats out there.

As for sound, the Thermal Resonated inside the car at any cruising speed it was annoying. Almost made you go insane if you were sitting there in dead silence listening to it. But just one of the trade-offs for performance. I'm leaning towards the rsr system myself. Not sure yet.
