Anybody tested different fuels in our cars? Whats the best fuel you've found to work for you. I've found that Shell, and some STP octane booster does wonders for my car.:thumb:

However I used to swear by Amoco/Exxon fuel.

I've used the citgo, and i wasnt really a big fan. I like the BP, not sure if anyone else has used that. The Citgo may have a dissadvantage though because its a huge station and i live in a small town, so the premo may sit there a while, possibly effecting its potency. Do know if that might effect it?

I only run Sunoco for a few reasons.

1. That's what has always been run in it, even before I bought it.
2. They're one of the only places around here that has 93 octane.
3. They have more stations than other 93 carriers and they're the closest to my house.
4. The car runs great on it.

Now, if someone came in with E85 local to me, I might change my mind :sneaky:

out here in CA i have tested shell and chevron and i would have knock on shell at anything over 22/23 psi but i could boost 25 psi on chevron and they were both 91 oct

Sunoco = American
They carry 94 Octane at my local one

:hellyeah:

Boycott foreign fuel and they'll drop the gas prices.

They also carry 94 at my local Sunoco but it's another 10 cents on the gallon over 93, so I just throw a mix of e85 in there.

If it's not Sunoco I usually hit up the Meijer by my work for a 93/e85 mix.

Brad, keep in mind that mixing E85 with another gas might not always produce the same octane all year round.

Yeah I know. Hopefully I'll be on straight e85 before too long. Have the injectors but I need another pump and afpr. (should've done it right the first time :coy: )

Sidenote though has anyone ever thought about how much gas (usually 87) is still in the line when you gas up your car? I figure it has to be about a gallon of 87 before you even get any 93 :notgood: .

The fuel line itself doesn't hold much at all. A 15-foot -6AN line only holds 17 cubic inches of fuel, which is around 9.4 fluid ounces. A stock fuel line will hold even less.

I think he's talking about the hose that's attached at the gas station pump. How much fuel is in it after someone has just filled up on 87oct and you hit the 93 or in my case 91oct button.

I wouldn't think there's quite a gallon. Then again I don't know... I have wondered though if I'm even getting 91 octane at all when I fill up, or if they're just taking my money for 87 and calling it 91. More less, all buttons lead to 87. Or maybe there was a new guy that delivered the fuel and put the 91 oct in the 87 tank and vice versa. ROFL

Edit: Damnit, brian types faster than me...

You're scaring people man.

We should all just start purging the line onto the ground before we start pumping it into our cars.

Zoolander style, of course...

Hey, not everybody loves their job... I don't know how you can like pumping fuel for a living. Maybe he showed up for work in the morning and said to himself, "F the man, I'm giving the 87 octaner's a "Free Upgrade" today!! F the guys that buy the good shit!!"

It's totally possible...

BTW, I get my fuel from Either Phillips 66/Conoco or a local station called Quik Trip.
