I just purchased Turbo xs MBC and I was wondering where everybody mounted there MBC. I dont like where they mounted it on VFAQ i was looking for a more stealthy hidden place to mount it and still have access to it I was thinking near the BCS.

Step 1: Sit in car

Step 2: Devise a mounting point

If you're going for a stealthy look, pink cars aren't the best solution. I'd mount it in the middle of the steering wheel.

i have mine here..

but i have to give credit to JP for the idea and everything. I like it there, its easy to adjust and looks real nice. The only problem is i needed a longer screw. (a whole 10 cents at a hardware store)

1) The car is red
2) who cares if it was pink?
3) i mounted mine on the valve cover bolt also.

wut about where the bcs is you think that would be a good place :dsm:

since were all being smartasses
1 u can mount a mbc in the car look at hallman comp pro eveloution
2 get one for the stelty look
3 have funna and stop being smart asses

I second that what roast beef said. I got a Turbo XS HP Dual Stage Boost controll. And i made a bracket so i can mount it close by the wastegate. Which was one of the radiator brackets. Thanks oj :thumb:

Or you can just run long vacuum hoses on a MBC inside the car, I've done it several times.. works fine although I'm sure some t00nerz have something to say, some theory, that it won't work.

Also, your car is pink. If it's not, then take a better picture.

I would mount mine inside the radiator shroud. If you have to ask "where to mount it," that would be the best place for you.

Why the hell would you mount it inside the shroud? You can not reach it from there. If you are going to argue that his car is pink.......You have some problems. And you should just be quite.

I mounted mine with a custom bracket I made by my air filter.

i have a MBC (trust Greddy tvvc type mini). mounted inside the car, it now resides where my cigarette lighter used to be (i don't smoke anyway). if putting it inside the car causes pressure drop just turn it up a notch, that's why you have a boost gauge (which happens to be inside the car too) j/k. my MBC is inside so i can boost up when someone pulls up next to me at a light or on the highway without having me 1) stopping on the side, 2)opening the hood, 3)turning up the boost, 4)close the hood, 5)get in the car and drive again and if needed more boost, repeat from step (1).

so the pressure drop for having a long vac line all the way inside the car is worth it. i don't lose as much time as i would if i had to keep stopping to turn up the boost.

I think the most common place I see it is on the radiator shroud. Although if you have the Hallman, you get a remote switch that you run into the cabin. With the Hallman you don't have to worry about running long vac lines. I wouldn't be worried as much about a pressure drop as I would be about getting a pin hole in the aforementioned vac lines and getting a boost leak. Shorter lines= less chance of a leak

Also, if you intend on adjusting boost while driving, you should really get the Hallman or a dual stage boost controller. Turbo XS and Dejon Tool both make them (as I'm sure there are others as well.)

My idea was better. Mount the MBC in the radiator shroud, hopefully the radiator will cut up your MBC, with no line it will allow infinite boost, blow your motor, you will then part out your DSM, and we won't have to see stupid threads like this anymore. Go grab a zip tie and knock yourself out.

No, it'll work. You'll just get bad boost spike from the lag time it takes to fill up the lines all the way from the turbo to the cabin, activate the MBC, then go from the cabin back to the wastegate.

Since many folks get boost spike from running more than two feet of MBC lines, I think the boost spike in this situation would be pretty ridiculous if you're trying to run low boost. If you're running 20+PSI like you do all the time anyway, it might not be noticable, especially if your turbo is large and hits slowly. Try to run 12-15PSI on a 14B or 16G with this method, though, and I guarantee you'll see 20-25PSI of boost momentarily before the spike settles.

I knew it, someone would tell me how it wouldn't work. Too bad it worked fine, and in several different cars/setups I had.

my MBC is inside. set at 15psi on T2small. spikes to 18psi then settles at 15psi... 3psi of spike boost isn't bad, may kill my turbo faster but that's what i want to do anyway so i can upgrade. :shhh:

There are a ton of variables involved, though.

It may be the choice of tubing/vac line you decided to use. If you used a hard nylon line or silicone tubing, it may work better because you don't have issues with the line expanding and flexing.

Seriously, though, do a search for boost spike on this forum. There are close to 100 threads about someone's lines being too long - as soon as they shortened them, the problem went away.

I just tied mine to the radiator shroud. It's been there for over 2 years and no killer fan yet! I do agree though on the length. I got over 6psi boost spike when I tried running it inside my car. Now it's about a ft away and no spike, no creep, no problems. :thumb:
