hey there everyone I was just wondering if you can give me a hand, I need to know the cheapest place to buy slotted brembo rotors, the cheapest place ive found are 160, Also I need some new pads i want Hawk or axxis the cheapest ive found axxis are 80 all 4 ceramic. I am switching to GSX Brake upgrade in the front.

Ebay carries authentic Brembo rotors but they aren't slotted they are just a solid rotor. Your best bet will be www.sportbrakes.com price and speed wise.

you can get them pretty much anywhere. What happened to me is that i found the cheapest price and bought it from them. Turned out that they were on like 2 month backorder and didnt tell me. I cancelled it and bought from extremepsi.com and they had them to my door in 3 days. Up to you though.

also, i'd recommend slotted rotors. I hear that the drilled rotors tend to warp

There are a number of differing opions on cross-drilled or slotted.

From what I've read cross-drilled can be prone to cracking around the holes and possibly cause rotor failure which is not what you want to happen. This can happen if you do a lot of hard braking usually from racing.

Power slot uses slots because the slots have a scraping or cleaning action of the rotors from brake dust plus the dissipation of gases which can have a negative affect on braking.

So for street driving, either one would just be a personal choice.

I searched for hours on this topic before I decided to get cross-drilled and slotted Brembo rotors from sportbrakes.com. The issue with cracking arises on the cheap ebay rotors.

If you get a quality product like Brembo and then cross-drill it and/or slot it and then balance it (which is what www.sportbrakes.com does), there won't be any issues. Yes, granted, if you road race on a track, cross-drilled rotors might crack due to the excessive heat, but on the street you'll be fine.

I've had mine for over a year now, no cracks at all, I am hard on them on the street and the braking power is awesome.

Can you guys recomend witch one I should purchase slotted, drilled, cross drilled, ect and do you guys know why they dont mention that the rotors are Brembo

Go to the website, on the second red box on the left, click on rotor... this is what you see.

Sportbrakes International :: Rotors

These are brand new Brembo OEM brake rotors.

Choose the type of rotors you would like from Cross-Drilled to Slotted to Dimpled and everything in between. Be sure to select your type of vehicle on the left hand side of the page to view availibility and pricing. You will also be able to select whether you want the Front Set, Rear Set or both...

You must select a vehicle to view prices for this product

try a performance web site. andysautosport.com some stuff has high shipping but some stuff doesnt, and please avoid ebay

Please avoid andy's auto. www.vendors-reviewed.com
I had a fricken nightmare of an experience and lost mucho $$$ while having to involve the police.
But this isn't a vendor review thread etc just lookin out for ya.

ebay usually has great deals on rotors, but there is something to be said for supporting the community :thumb:

EDIT: Glad you're satisfied with your purchase.

Thanks I just ordered the Sportbrake brembos cross drilled and slotted Great People at sport brakes very helpfull. recommend!!!

I know its a little late now but why would you opt for both cross drilled & slotted? Yes cracking can be an issue with cross drilled rotors but this depends on alot of things. Slotted rotors origionally came out to "vent" the pad surface or to allow trapped gases to escape from the pad surface as this would effect brakeing performance but nowadays with the more advanced pad materials this is no longer an issue. It seems the main thing you gain from slotting is faster pad wear & more dust. Not to mention both drilling and slotting removes material, the less material you have, the lower the amount of heat the rotor can absord & dissapate. This also reduces the rotor breaking surface area. If it was me I would have opted for just plain rotors & spent more on the pads, which make a bigger difference IMO. If I had to go one or the other, I'd just go slotted. When I got my Wilwood kit they didn't have just pain rotors in stock so I went slotted.
