HELL YEA to the Aircraft Stripper. Be very careful and DO NOT get it on your skin.

I used it last week to take the paint off my intercooler...maybe thats why the skin is peeling on my fingers. :p Also don't get it in your cuts, it kinda stings, but it takes almost everything off. So +1 on it too

Don't mean to jack the thread but...

I just got my used 1g bov and its all dirty. I can clean off all the dirt but was wondering if this stuff will get it ready for painting. Also, should I even bother with trying to sand the top of the bov first? Any thoughts about using primer vs. not using?

yea man wd works good and carb cleaner does to i found out about the wd on accident casue i thought it was the carb cleaner bottle and i sprayed it on smelled it and knew it wasnt carb cleaner so i wiped it off and it came clean so i used the rest of the can on some of the parts and then finally got around to using the carb cleaner and it works a little better then wd but still good alternatives and cheap carb cleaner at wal mart is like 1.09 haha so during my rebuild i grabed the whole case LOL

I forgot my carb cleaner and didnt have any wd laying around so I got some heavy duty bbq grill cleaner and it got the grime off pretty damn well! I sanded the bov with some 400 grit sand paper and got all that green color off the cap and the stuff that the grill cleaner left behind. Just shot it with some duplicolor that I figured matched my RRE UICP the best and its drying right now. I got a few tiny bubbles but not bad for my first time. Looks like it is going to do just fine.

Reviving this thread for a new product I tried.

I used aircraft stripper in the past and it works wonders. I went to Walmart to go get a can for stripping the stock paint on my Evo8 wheels and was unable to find it. I was annoyed that it wasn't there but looking around I saw that they have another line of products there. I ended up purchaching Klean-Strip Premium Stripper. It's in an orange/gold container and is in both a liquid and aerosol.

I took a chance with it and tried it on the wheel. It states it will remove most paint in 15min or less. Sprayed it on and it sprayed and looked just like the aircraft stripper. It removed the paint from the wheel in a minute or two.

Very pleased with it. So if you cannot find aircraft stripper, check this stuff out. I give it a big :thumb:
