If any of you guys out there are using a muffler from Advance, lemme know your opinion on it. I need to order a muffler tomorrow and get my piping done this weekend before my neighbors go ballistic over my open downpipe. I just need an opinion on which one i should get that has a 3" inlet and doesn't sound like crap. Thanks! :thumb:

I work for advance auto, the ones we got in stock suck. Ask the guys for the Keystone catalogue, you can order literally almost any exhaust you can imagine from the catalogue including flowmaster, vibrant performance, and many other guys. Not many people realize that, and it comes in in a few days, so probably by friday or saturday you should easily get it.

yeah i'm not really worried if it's in stock or not. it usually only takes them 1 day to get whatever i order. thanks for letting me know!

It is really deep sound and the cops don't look at the car that much anymore.

It is my sleeper.

What size is it, and do you recall the part number? I'm looking into something similar for the 1g I'm working on.

I work for AAP also, at DC#22

what did you guys pay for yours? i'm not sure how much the piping is gonna be but i don't wanna spend too much but at the same time, i don't want it to sound like crap.

Get either a Magnaflow, Dynomax, or Flowmaster straight through muffler. Dont get a walker, or a cheaper Dynomax though, their not even welded. I wouldn't get anything out of the keystone catalog. It's all extremely overpriced. Just look through some of the manufacturers catalogs and have them search for availability.

I don't remember the part number but it was a stainless steel mangnaflow with 3" in and out inline.

and i bought it at advance auto.
I think it was like 80.00 maybe not really sure but i needed something because i made the 3" with nothing inline like i have on my honda but it was way to loud on the DSM.

Just have a local non-chain muffler shop put an exhaust on for you. They'll know what to do once you tell them what you want. And they'll wind up cheaper than anything other than eBay.

yeah that's what i'm doing. i just don't want a really cheap muffler that's gonna sound like crap, rust, or break a weld. but, i think i'm just gonna go with the ricer classic DC 3" cansiter. unless someone changes my mind......

I got my magnaflow muffler from summit, and tips from summit. Looks wicked, sounds awesome, and best of all, looks stock, so no attention from cops. Cost me a total of like 100 bucks.

Personally, magnaflow is the way to go on these cars. There a clip on my cardomain you can listen to.

I got mine 3" turboback done at a local shop w/ a magnaflow muffler for about $300 a couple years ago...

Im using the thrush turbo style muffler they sell. Sounds mean at boost, and its free flowing so you can hear the turbo whistle down like the turbo diesel trucks.
