Best All-Season Tires???

Since my car is my DD, and I live in the awesome 4 seasons of northern MN, I am trying to find a good all season tire, and was wondering what other people have had good experiences with?

I've ran Eagle RS-A all year round in my GSX work awseome for me.

Best all season? Going to be a michelin either a primacy, defender, or destiny.

Those are not with performance in mind.

With tires you cant really have a great performance and a great wet weather tire all in one. You have to sacrafice.

I usually go on tirerack.com and look at the surveys and reviews they give. Those guys are usually dead on with tires as I use all season as well here in Pennsylvania. I just had a set of HP All seasons and they were great and reviews were dead on. 215-45-17 size i had.

I unfortunately had to drive mine in the winter this year with my old rim set up and I loved how my nitto's ran, great year round tire and extremely quiet.

I would recommend Nokian WRG2 "All weather" tires. They are the only tire that are snow rated tire (they have the snow flake logo that is only for snow tire) and you do not have to remove them in the summer. They are a good all around tire with a good grip in the snow, the wet and dry weather. I use them on all my cars and I am very happy with them. They are a bit pricey but it saves having to buy a set of rims and snow tires.

I've heard the new Kuhmo 4X is an excellent all season. It has great reviews and tests on TireRack. Pretty fairly priced too. The Goodyear Eagle GT isn't too shabby either, but more then the 4X. Not as good IMO either.

This would be my recomenation as well. I manage an undercar shop and sell most tire brands on a daily basis. Kumho Ecsta 4X KU22 is the replacement for the Ecsta ASX, which was an excellent a/s tire. The 4X is just plain better. As a bonus it has a 40K tread wear warranty, there's not many "W" speed rated tires that offer that kind of tread life.

Toyo proxies 4 as already posted, are great all round tires. Continental tires are also a great brand.

The Kumho Ecsta 4X KU22 is a decent "all-season" but it is terrible on packed snow. Light snow, at most. We have them on my wife's DD.

I recommend this. With the money you spend on tires these days you can buy a beater that will take the salt and sand way better than your dsm. Buy some cheapie off brand tires for the beater and go! Especially with the money a good set of all seasons will run. Those d.w.s.'s are awesome tires but they will run you about $800 for 4.

I'm hoping to be able to do that this next year. Having just bought my first house, most of the money is going that route. . However, once I can get a different DD, I want to really hit the Eclipse hard and make it a summer cruiser.

Honestly though, anything would be better then the tires I have on right now. VeeRubber tires = suckiness. It's the tires the car came with when I bought it back in March.

Guessing that the 16" wheels you have run 205/55/16 tires, you'd be looking at $370 shipped to your door for the 4X's after the $50 rebate for Discount Tire Direct. Pretty fair IMO for a value all-season tire that you still want some performance out of.

The 205/60/16 on the rims now are stretched, so I"m needing a wider tire. And I'm actually only going to pay about $320 for the tires & mount after talking to the tires discount guy who said he would drop them to $87 a piece, plus Kumho's $50 discount, plus discount tires rebate of $30

Right on! What size did you decide on? If the 205/60 were stretched, I'd try a 225/50.
