I went [email protected] with the small 16g and 550s with a stock wired walbro 190. Made 338awhp with this setup. I now have the evo 16g and 650s see what happens. Oh full weight 2g by the way.

And you people trapping 115+ what kind of 60fts where you doing and where you granny shifting?

i had shifting problem, which made me mad and i got stage 3 shep-trany...
shifting to 2nd gear was horriblle, and had hard time to switch to 3rd too... but i had trap speed all night around 110mph. Now i removed balancer shafts, got 1g tb 2.5" tb elbow and water injection

wish me luck guys, next saturday
 
I ran the time on my profile with a B16G, 550's and the stock smic. I had a lot of timing being pulled in 3rd and 4th. I have a supra smic now and water injection so I should be in the twelves now. Just got to get time to go to the track again to see what I can do.
 
I only run stock head gaskets.
I have also run a 60 trim with a 75 shot of nitrous in my talon with a stock head gasket and stock head bolts. Detonation will kill your head gasket on a 16g not the amount of boost you run.

Good to see the small 16G gets some play:thumb: . I love that little turbo.

Your profile still says 288 whp. Do you have a dynograph up anywhere. It would be awesome to see an example of what a small 16g can do!

If you're going to run the stock head studs at least make sure they are properly torqued, and watch for knock like your headgasket depended on it. ;)
 
ICE-T, What rims are you using with those slicks? Its quite funny, we got the same exact car, same color, same setup...same slicks...only thing is im running a 2g maf and ## tuning with a MAF-t....small world after all.

Yea, it says 288 b/c thats what the dyno said. It was on a dyno dynamics. And the guy who owns it said the guys from DD said put a 17% correction factor onto the numbers to get them up to dyno jet or mustang dyno numbers. Not that i care about numbers the times are what matters.

I ran a stock HG and ARP's last year and thought it was working out fine. I pushed a little coolant my last trip to the track but showed zero knock on the logs. I assumed it was the radiator cap not being able to hold back 30 psi and bought a new one. A few weeks ago I pulled the upper radiator hose to find a little oil mixed in there and what do you know I had a few pin holes in the gasket.

Its getting a Mitsu MLS right now. I definately would not try to run high boost on a stock HG without at least putting ARP's in. A lot of guys run the stock gasket with success but it didnt work for me. Hopefully the MLS holds up better.

11's on an EVO turbo isnt that hard you just have to use the right parts, get a good tune, and drive the piss out of it.

Most of my runs had high 1.7 60's and I wasnt shifting exrememly fast but by no means granny shifting.
 
I have run a 12.47 @ 111 (and my personal best 7.9 @ 91 mph in the 1/8th) with my regular Big16g and 550's. That was with HKS 264's. Got a whole lot of new goodies over the down season, so we'll see how she does this summer.
 
My run in my sig was in 2004 with stock cams, hg/studs, no DSMlink or wideband, just plain old logger/afc. Installed 272's last year, and nothing different on setup, ran consistent 117-118mph passes, but couldn't get 11's, I'd run 12.01-12.06 all day long though. This was at a rock solid 26psi all the way to redline.
 
Way back then, 560ccs(EVO VIII) w/ the EVO III turbo i went 11.9 @115.

Sure, if you're interested in doing an EPROM ECU with a custom chip, we'll get her dialed in for sure. It's a minimalist setup, but it works.

I think your saving grace has been the 255/AFPR combo since the flow is so much better than the 190. At 25psi, I'm running out of steam with the 190's on 650 injectors. Just for kicks, what kind of A/F and timing were you running on your 11 second passes?

Of course most of it is your wiseman tuning skills.Im so happy with this setup I cant wait to get it to the track.I still cant hold boost.It drops to 19-20psi by 6k.The only boost leak i have is leaking into the crankcase.I have 142 compression across the board.The car does not smoke at all.So im confused on all of this but hopefully Ill run some decent times.
 
So let me get this straight, it is possible to run 11's with EVO III turbo(+26psi) , SAFC, MAFT, FMIC, AFPR, Stock cam's, Stock HG, Stock headbolts, C16 race gas, and full weight?

All I need is a really good tune and some good ass driving? Will I need to get an EPROM Chip?
 
Dont forget a fuel pump.

You'll need some fuel modifications of course (pump, injectors). I don't know about full weight... your transmission will probably hate you for trying.

that is why i fabbed up my own water injection kit costing only 22$! i ran 30 psi for a pull on stock smic , e316g 650cc's at 90% indc and 24 counts of knock , and i can spray double the amount that im spraying to subside most if not all of the remaining knock.

btw i hit 12.8 so far, that was my first time ever at the track and i only trapped 104.98 :rolleyes: barely shift into 4th before crossing the finish line, i mean just enough time to shift and respool and im crossed , i think with just a little higher redline i could stay in 3rd and get a better time. maybe a better mph.

does water injection count, does my water injection setup count? because i think i will be getting into the 11's next time i go to the track.
 
I would go bigger than 550`s.

ffwd connections hks knock off cam the "dks" exact same grinds as the 264's and 272's for only 350$.

from there it really is up to you , do you want to maintain a nice idle or does a mean idle sound good :sneaky:

you should come down to moros one time and get a couple of runs in hanging out with a couple of dsm guys form vero beach see if we can all pull some 11's :thumb: i heard bradentons track is well prepped , so maybe we will try there. how many runs do you usually get in a any given day?.
