2G Bending water pipe and line under it.

Working on installing my 20g, i have pounded on my water pipe quite a bit. It seems the line directly below it may be my main issue in squeezing the turbo on. What is this line for? How do you go about moving it?

Water for the turbo

Take the banjo bolt out along with the pipe and put an old 7 bolt oil pan drain bolt and a fresh crush washer in its place.

Or take out the next piece as well and use a 3/8 British plug. I ran a 3/8 npt tap through mine and use a standard 3/8 plug.

Either weld the other water line shut on the water pipe like I did or use a reinforced cap with a clamp.

Agree with Daniel if it’s the port in the block (red trace) you are referring to. I feel confident it is.

Just in case, if you’re referring to the line just below the water pipe (green trace), this is the feed line for the water cooled oil cooler attached to the oil filter housing. Unbolting it from the water pipe on the left may give you a little more wiggle room.

If it is indeed the other water line as Brian mentioned above, I converted to a evo3 ofh which eliminates the water cooled portion of the ofh while adding ports for an external air to oil cooler.

I also then welded the water nipple closed closest to the water pump and removed the nipple on the thermostat housing and ran a 1/8npt tap through it and used a 1/8 socket cap in its place.

There is many other cheaper options than what I did to remove the water cooler section if you decide you need it to be removed. I did it mainly for downpipe clearance anyways and to clean the bay up a little.

I ended up removing the line that runs to the OFH so i didnt have to fight it.
Looks like after i got the turbo on i wont have much room at all the squeeze the steel line back where it went.
Can i replace this steel line with a hose or steel braded line of some sort and re-route?
