Ok, I'm freaking out here. My AC belt is cutting INTO my timing belt cover. its pretty far already. Has anyone seen this before, and know how to fix it? I have a pic attached too. It makes a noise like you wouldn't believe. I haven't been driving it passed 2500 RPM's since it started. All help is greatly appreciated.

It’s that manual tensioner man. its held on by three 12 mil bolts and tensions my turning the 14 mil bolt that pointed up...maybe its bent...or isn’t tightened in the first place. Its happened to me..opps after a timing change forgot to tighten then it bent down and the belt broke, sounded like a shotgun went off scared the shit out of me.

how do i fix it? i dont have the CD manual. Do i need a new tensioner? or just take off the top engine mount and try to adjust it? ALl my other cars have automatic tensioners, so I've never had to worry about it before. Thanks for the reply.

that looks like exactly what happened to my engine - my AC belt cut into the timing cover and eventually the pulley seized when the belt got jammed into the motor mount. my alternator belt kept falling off too. turns out my harmonic dampener (crank pulley) was broken into 2 pieces. the only reason it was still on the car was because the frame is too close to the pulley for it to fall off unless you drop the motor down. you might really want to check that pulley.

yep that pic looks very familiar after the previuos had the dealership replace timing belt. i just said screw it and eventually it wore away enough of the cover to not scrape any more. a fix for this would be to cut away at the cover in that area, or take everything apart and try to put it back together correctly. i just really didn't care, keep an eye on the ac belt. the next time you get a timing belt deal with it then its not worth the time and labor to do it. letting it scrape isn't going to matter any ways unless it causes the belt to break, which is why you keep an eye on it. and it will not cause your harmonic balancer to come apart.
